وجّه مدير عام فرع وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بمنطقة عسير، المهندس أحمد بن محمد آل مجثل، خطاباً إلى مديري الإدارات والمكاتب والوحدات بالمراكز والمحافظات في المنطقة، بشأن بدء العمل على مبادرة السماح بالرعي في أراضي الغابات والمتنزهات، وذلك بالتنسيق مع فرع المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر في المنطقة.
وأوضح «آل مجثل» أن هذه المبادرة تأتي تشجيعاً لمربي الماشية للاستفادة من الحشائش والنباتات الرعوية، لما لها من دور إيجابي في خفض الوقود الغابي والحد من حرائق الغابات، مشيراً إلى أن الخطاب تضمّن دعوة مربي الماشية لتسجيل بياناتهم تمهيداً لاستكمال إجراءات السماح بالرعي، وفق التنظيمات المعتمدة.
وأكد «آل مجثل» على أهمية الاطلاع على تفاصيل الخطاب والتقيد بما ورد فيه، مبيناً أنه يمكن التنسيق في هذا الشأن مع مدير قسم المراعي بالمركز الوطني.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن جهود الوزارة والمركز لتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية، وتحقيق التوازن بين استخدام الموارد الطبيعية والحفاظ على الغطاء النباتي.
The Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in the Asir region, Engineer Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mujthal, has sent a letter to the directors of departments, offices, and units in the centers and governorates of the region regarding the commencement of work on the initiative to allow grazing in forest and park lands, in coordination with the branch of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification in the region.
Al-Mujthal explained that this initiative aims to encourage livestock breeders to benefit from grasses and forage plants, as they play a positive role in reducing forest fuel and limiting forest fires. He pointed out that the letter included a call for livestock breeders to register their data in preparation for completing the procedures for allowing grazing, according to the approved regulations.
Al-Mujthal emphasized the importance of reviewing the details of the letter and adhering to its contents, indicating that coordination on this matter can be made with the Director of the Rangelands Department at the National Center.
This step is part of the ministry's and the center's efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and achieve a balance between the use of natural resources and the preservation of vegetation cover.
