The representative of Saudi Arabia in the donor group supporting the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Assistant General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for Planning and Development, Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, participated in the high-level meeting organized by the United Nations Joint Funds Group on the British island of Jersey, with the participation of representatives from major donor countries and international humanitarian organizations.

During his speech at the meeting, Al-Ghamdi emphasized the importance of enhancing joint work and integration between donor countries and United Nations institutions to ensure fair and effective access to aid, especially for the most affected groups. He also affirmed the Kingdom's commitment, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, to continue supporting global humanitarian efforts, contributing to saving lives and improving the quality of life in affected communities.

He pointed out that the Kingdom is one of the most prominent and largest international donors in the humanitarian field, having led qualitative humanitarian and developmental initiatives over the past years through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which have reached more than 107 countries around the world, implemented in partnership with United Nations agencies and international organizations and bodies.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants praised the pivotal role played by the Kingdom in supporting humanitarian issues, affirming the importance of maintaining this international momentum to ensure the sustainability of the response and expand its impact on the ground.

The meeting is considered a key stop in the global efforts aimed at enhancing financing mechanisms and responding to humanitarian needs.
