The Public Prosecution has referred a resident of Asian nationality to the Criminal Court after he created a fake Hajj campaign through one of the social media platforms, with the intent of unlawfully seizing the funds of others. He was arrested with receipts related to the illegal activity in his possession. A preliminary ruling was issued against him, sentencing him to (one year) in prison and imposing a fine of (ten thousand riyals), along with the confiscation of all devices and means used in committing the crime. The Public Prosecution emphasized that participating in the creation of fake campaigns is considered a major crime warranting detention, and confirmed its commitment to pursuing anyone who manipulates Hajj regulations and bringing them to justice.
