وجّه منتخب الرأس الأخضر إنذاراً شديد اللهجة لمنتخبات مجموعته الثامنة ضمن مونديال كأس العالم 2026، التي تضم (أسبانيا والأوروغواي والسعودية)، بعد فوزه العريض على نظيره الصربي بثلاثية دون رد، في المباراة الودية التي جمعتهما في مدينة لشبونة البرتغالية، ضمن الاستعدادات لبطولة كأس العالم.
افتتح كيفن بينا التسجيل مبكراً في الدقيقة الـ11 للرأس الأخضر، لينتهي الشوط الأول بتقدم كاب فيردي بهدف دون رد.
وفي الشوط الثاني، سجل جيلسون تافاريس ولاروس دوارتي الهدفين الثاني والثالث في الدقيقتين 59 و63، ليحسم كاب فيردي المباراة بثلاثية نظيفة.
يذكر أن منتخب الرأس الأخضر، يبدأ مشواره في المونديال يوم 15 يونيو بمواجهة المنتخب الإسباني، ثم يلتقي منتخب الأوروغواي يوم 21 يونيو، قبل أن يختتم مبارياته في دور المجموعات بمواجهة المنتخب السعودي يوم 26 من الشهر ذاته.

Kevin Pina opened the scoring early in the 11th minute for Cape Verde, ending the first half with Cape Verde leading by one goal to none.
In the second half, Gilson Tavares and Laroos Duarte scored the second and third goals in the 59th and 63rd minutes, securing a clean sheet victory for Cape Verde.
It is worth mentioning that the Cape Verde national team will begin its World Cup journey on June 15 against the Spanish team, then face the Uruguayan team on June 21, before concluding its group stage matches against the Saudi team on June 26.
