Join the Royal Saudi Navy as a new generation of high-maneuverability and escort warships manufactured in Turkey. The website "Defense Turkey" reported that the delivery comes as part of the Saudi naval expansion program. Saudi Arabia has sought early on to modernize its fleet of warships and replace its old frigates with the latest advancements in naval military industry worldwide. A memorandum of intent was signed in April 2018, stipulating the construction of five advanced corvettes, providing intensive training for its Saudi crews, and the necessary logistical support. The value of the mentioned memorandum of intent is 1.8 billion euros. The aforementioned site considered that Saudi Arabia's possession of this naval fleet contributes to the defense industry targets outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.

On another note, the Saudi company Fulk - owned by the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund - has acquired two new ships, raising the number of its fleet to eight ships, including three chartered vessels. Fulk Maritime Shipping Company began its operations in 2024. The company aims to efficiently connect regional ports and enhance trade movement in the Middle East and East Africa, in line with strategic objectives that align with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global logistics hub.
