بدأت أمانة المنطقة الشرقية بالتعاون مع إدارة مرور المنطقة الشرقية، أمس الأول (الجمعة) 28 جمادى الآخرة 1447هـ الموافق 19 ديسمبر 2025، بأعمال صيانة شاملة ورفع كفاءة جسر طريق الأمير سلطان عند تقاطع طريق الملك عبدالعزيز بمحافظة رأس تنورة، وذلك ضمن جهود الأمانة لتحسين البنية التحتية، وتعزيز السلامة المرورية للمواطنين والمقيمين.
وتشمل أعمال الصيانة استبدال فواصل التمدد وإعادة السفلتة على الجسر، إضافة إلى تطوير وسائل السلامة المرورية لضمان سير حركة المركبات بأمان وفعالية، حيث تم إغلاق الجسر بشكل كلي بالاتجاهين، لتسهيل تنفيذ الأعمال دون التأثير على جودة الصيانة وسلامة العاملين.
ولتخفيف الأثر المروري، تم توجيه سائقي المركبات للالتفاف عبر شارع سفيان بن سهل للمتجهين إلى محافظة رأس تنورة، وطريق الملك فهد للمتجهين إلى مجمع الجعيمة الصناعي، حيث ستستمر الأعمال وفق جدول زمني محدد لضمان إنجاز المشروع بكفاءة عالية، مع التزام قائدي المركبات بإشارات المرور والتحويلات المؤقتة لتجنب أي اختناقات مرورية أو حوادث محتملة.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة ضمن سلسلة من المشاريع التي تنفذها أمانة المنطقة الشرقية لتحسين شبكة الطرق والجسور، ودعم السلامة المرورية، وتعزيز انسيابية الحركة في مختلف المدن والمحافظات التابعة لها، وضمن خطط الأمانة الدورية لتطوير شبكات الطرق والجسور في المنطقة الشرقية وتحسين تجربة مستخدمي الطرق.
ويعد جسر طريق الأمير سلطان من المحاور الحيوية في محافظة رأس تنورة، حيث يربط بين الطريق الرئيسي للمدينة ومناطق النشاط الصناعي والتجاري، مما يجعل صيانته وتطويره أولوية لضمان استمرارية الحركة المرورية بأمان وسلاسة.
وتتابع أمانة المنطقة الشرقية تنفيذ الأعمال والتنسيق المستمر مع إدارة المرور، لضمان تقليل أي تأثير على حركة المركبات، وتحرص على سلامة المواطنين والمقيمين، ورفع مستوى الخدمات المقدمة لهم.
The Eastern Province Municipality, in collaboration with the Eastern Province Traffic Department, began comprehensive maintenance and efficiency enhancement works on the Prince Sultan Road Bridge at the intersection with King Abdulaziz Road in the Governorate of Ras Tanura on Friday, 28 Jumada Al-Akhirah 1447 AH, corresponding to December 19, 2025. This is part of the municipality's efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance traffic safety for citizens and residents.
The maintenance works include replacing expansion joints and resurfacing the bridge, in addition to developing traffic safety measures to ensure the safe and effective flow of vehicles. The bridge has been completely closed in both directions to facilitate the execution of the works without affecting the quality of maintenance and the safety of the workers.
To mitigate traffic impact, drivers have been directed to detour via Sufyan bin Sahl Street for those heading to Ras Tanura and King Fahd Road for those heading to the Al-Jaima Industrial Complex. The works will continue according to a specific timetable to ensure the project is completed efficiently, with vehicle operators committed to obeying traffic signals and temporary diversions to avoid any traffic congestion or potential accidents.
This initiative is part of a series of projects implemented by the Eastern Province Municipality to improve the road and bridge network, support traffic safety, and enhance the smooth flow of traffic in various cities and governorates under its jurisdiction, as part of the municipality's periodic plans to develop road and bridge networks in the Eastern Province and improve the experience of road users.
The Prince Sultan Road Bridge is considered a vital artery in the Governorate of Ras Tanura, as it connects the main road of the city with industrial and commercial activity areas, making its maintenance and development a priority to ensure the continuity of traffic flow safely and smoothly.
The Eastern Province Municipality is closely monitoring the execution of the works and maintaining continuous coordination with the traffic department to ensure minimal impact on vehicle movement, prioritizing the safety of citizens and residents, and enhancing the level of services provided to them.
