قضت محكمة الجنايات في الكويت بحبس مشهورة كويتية وزوجها لمدة سنتين، في قضية تعاطي مواد مخدرة وجلب مؤثرات عقلية عبر مطار الكويت الدولي، مع تغريمهما ألفي دينار كويتي، مع وقف تنفيذ العقوبة لمدة ثلاث سنوات بكفالة ألف دينار لحسن السير والسلوك.
كما قضت المحكمة ببراءتهما من تهمة عدم الإفصاح عن مبلغ مالي قدره 26,705 دولارات أثناء دخولهما الكويت، وفقاً لـ«الراي».
دفاع المتهمين
وخلال التحقيقات، أنكر المتهمان الاتهامات المنسوبة إليهما، مؤكدين أن المواد المضبوطة كانت أدوية موصوفة طبياً لعلاج الأعصاب، جرى صرفها لهما خلال وجودهما خارج البلاد. كما أوضحا أن المبلغ المالي المضبوط يمثل أرباحاً تحصّلا عليها من أحد الكازينوهات خارج الكويت.
قضية أثارت الجدل
القضية أثارت جدلاً واسعاً نظراً لارتباطها بشخصية معروفة على منصات التواصل، قبل أن تنتهي بحكم يجمع بين الإدانة مع وقف التنفيذ، والبراءة في الشق المالي، ليُسدل الستار قانونياً على واحدة من أكثر القضايا متابعة خلال الفترة الأخيرة في الكويت.
The Criminal Court in Kuwait sentenced a famous Kuwaiti woman and her husband to two years in prison for drug use and bringing psychotropic substances through Kuwait International Airport, along with a fine of two thousand Kuwaiti dinars, with a three-year suspension of the sentence on a bail of one thousand dinars for good conduct.
The court also acquitted them of the charge of failing to disclose a sum of money amounting to $26,705 upon their entry into Kuwait, according to "Al-Rai".
Defense of the Defendants
During the investigations, the defendants denied the charges against them, asserting that the seized substances were medically prescribed drugs for treating nerves, which were dispensed to them while they were abroad. They also clarified that the seized amount of money represented profits they obtained from a casino outside Kuwait.
A Controversial Case
The case sparked widespread controversy due to its connection with a well-known personality on social media, before concluding with a ruling that combined conviction with a suspended sentence and acquittal on the financial aspect, legally closing one of the most followed cases in Kuwait in recent times.
