In a move that reflects the ambitions of Saudi scholarship students to bring international experiences to national sports, Saudi scholarship student Rakan Al-Nasser launched the "Drs. Paces" initiative in partnership with the basketball team at Loughborough University in the UK, providing an opportunity for Saudi talents to train and develop in one of the most prominent collegiate sports environments in the United Kingdom.
The participation in training alongside the team players allows them to benefit from intensive training programs and the technical expertise of the coaches, which contributes to honing their skills and raising their competitive levels, while continuing their academic pursuits.
The partnership extends to joint sports activities outside of basketball courts, as Loughborough team players will participate in events organized by the running club affiliated with the "Drs. Paces" initiative, alongside showcasing the initiative's identity in the media materials related to the team's match results.
Saudi scholarship student Rakan Al-Nasser confirmed that this step stems from his desire to give back to his country and contribute to the development of the Saudi sports sector, noting that his ambition is not limited to achieving academic success but extends to creating new opportunities for Saudi athletes and benefiting from the resources and expertise available in British universities.
