In a scene that reflects the extent of the suffering endured by the residents under the fire of the Houthi terrorist militia in Taiz, an ambulance driver was killed and several paramedics were injured in a Houthi attack today (Tuesday) when a shell targeted the vehicle in the Al-Sarari area of the Al-Masrak district in the south of the governorate.
The local authority in Taiz condemned the crime that affected individuals who dedicated themselves to saving lives and assisting the wounded, carrying nothing but their humanitarian duty. It emphasized that targeting residential areas and endangering the lives of civilians, along with attacking ambulances and medical teams, represents a serious escalation and a grave violation of humanitarian and legal norms that ensure the protection of civilians and medical personnel during armed conflicts.
The local authority held the Houthi terrorist militia fully responsible for these crimes and their consequences, calling on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to stop the bombardment, protect the residents and medical teams, hold accountable those responsible for the violations, and put an end to impunity.
Simultaneously, the militia continues to shell residential neighborhoods in the city of Taiz and the villages of Saber with rockets and artillery shells, resulting in civilian casualties and placing residents in constant danger that follows them even inside their homes.
The targeting of the ambulance adds a new burden on civilians and paramedics, making the task of rescuing the wounded itself vulnerable to danger, at a time when attacks on neighborhoods and residential villages continue.
As is customary for the Houthi militia in every setback it faces and military failure, it resorts to indiscriminately shelling civilian areas.
The media center of the Yemeni armed forces confirmed that the forces, supported by popular resistance and warplanes, repelled attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia on various fronts in Taiz governorate, clarifying that the forces thwarted attacks by the terrorist militia in the fronts of Al-Shaqab, Al-Masrak, and Al-Quroud in the south, as well as around Mount Han and Al-Dabab west of the city, and confronted an attempt to advance in the northern sector while artillery targeted and destroyed Houthi combat vehicles.
The center mentioned that warplanes targeted equipment and troop concentrations in various locations, resulting in several members of the terrorist militia being killed or injured.
