أعلن وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، تقديم المملكة دعمًا ماليًا بقيمة 6 ملايين دولار لبرامج مركز الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الإرهاب، وذلك خلال لقائه الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش، على هامش أعمال الأسبوع رفيع المستوى للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في دورتها الحادية والثمانين.
ويتوزع الدعم المالي المقدم من المملكة للمركز على سنوات ميلادية، اعتبارًا من العام المالي 2027، ويأتي دعم المملكة لمكافحة الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ومظاهره.
وأعرب وزير الخارجية عن شكره وتقديره للأمين العام بمناسبة قرب انتهاء مهامه، مثمناً جهوده التي بذلها خلال فترة توليه منصبه. كما استعرض الجانبان مجالات التعاون، وبحثا المستجدات الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
كما التقى الأمير فيصل بن فرحان، وزير الدولة وزير الشؤون الخارجية والجالية الوطنية بالخارج والشؤون الأفريقية في الجمهورية الجزائرية أحمد عطاف، وجرى خلال اللقاء استعراض العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين الشقيقين وسبل تعزيزها وتطويرها، إلى جانب مناقشة مستجدات الأوضاع في المنطقة والجهود المبذولة حيالها.
والتقى كذلك وزير خارجية الولايات المتحدة المكسيكية روبرتو فيلاسكو ألفاريز، وناقش الجانبان أبرز القضايا الإقليمية والدولية، وتبادلا وجهات النظر حول التطورات الراهنة والجهود الدولية المبذولة بشأنها.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah announced that the Kingdom is providing financial support of $6 million for the United Nations Center for Counter-Terrorism programs, during his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The financial support provided by the Kingdom to the center will be distributed over calendar years, starting from the fiscal year 2027, and the Kingdom's support comes in the context of combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Secretary-General on the occasion of the nearing end of his term, commending the efforts he has made during his time in office. The two sides also reviewed areas of cooperation and discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan also met with the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region and the efforts being made regarding them.
He also met with the Foreign Minister of the United Mexican States, Roberto Velasco Alvarez, and the two sides discussed the most prominent regional and international issues, exchanging views on current developments and the international efforts being made regarding them.
