On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Special Envoy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Negotiations and Peace Efforts, Manal Radwan, participated in the ministerial meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC), which was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, chaired by the Kingdom of Norway and co-sponsored by the United States of America and the European Union.
Radwan reiterated in her statement the Kingdom's support for the Palestinian Authority and its institutions, emphasizing the necessity of addressing its financial crisis, the complete and timely release of Palestinian clearance funds, and not linking financial commitments to the reform process.
She stressed the importance of coordinating and integrating humanitarian assistance, early recovery, and reconstruction financing within a clear political framework that strengthens legitimate Palestinian institutions, maintains the unity of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and supports the return of the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities in the sector.
She emphasized that economic support cannot be separated from the reality on the ground, given what the expansion of settlements, settler violence, and measures that undermine geographic connectivity and the economic viability of the Palestinian state represent as a direct weakening of Palestinian institutions and a hindrance to the realization of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
