Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in New York in chairing the high-level meeting "The Way Forward: A Year Since the New York Declaration and the Comprehensive Peace Plan," alongside France, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
He delivered a speech during the summit meeting, praising the steps taken by France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and many other countries in recognizing the State of Palestine and taking actions to enhance accountability regarding illegal settlement activities, calling on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take this step.
He emphasized the necessity of addressing settlement expansion, settler violence, and annexation policies, while preserving the existing historical and legal status in the holy city of Jerusalem, alongside rejecting violence, hatred, and incitement from all parties and creating a supportive environment for peace and reconciliation.
Regarding Gaza, the Foreign Minister called for the full and immediate implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict, ensuring unhindered access to aid, leading to the unification of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank within the framework of the Palestinian National Authority.
He stressed that security should be based on interconnectedness and mutual interests, not on the security of one party at the expense of another, affirming that the realization of an independent Palestinian state and the end of occupation are two pillars for the security and stability of the region.
The Foreign Minister affirmed that the Kingdom will continue to work with its partners to achieve a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the New York Declaration, a peace that ends the conflict, guarantees rights and security for all, and opens new horizons for stability, cooperation, and prosperity in the region.
