The attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia are no longer limited to targeting civilian objects, economic facilities, and populated areas; they have crossed all red lines by threatening the Qibla of Muslims, mosques, and places of worship. This escalation reveals their moral and religious downfall and exposes the false slogans they use to serve regional agendas that disregard the sanctity of holy sites and the lives of civilians.
The Houthi threat to the holy city of Mecca is not a fleeting precedent; the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen previously announced that air defense forces intercepted several ballistic missiles before they reached Mecca. They also intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the militia towards the area, describing that attack at the time as a "desperate attempt to disrupt the Hajj season."
In the latest chapter of this hostile approach, the Saudi Civil Defense issued a warning today (Tuesday) in Mecca to alert of a potential danger, later announcing that the threat had passed. This scene embodies the vigilance of the relevant authorities and their swift response to protect the holy capital, its residents, and its visitors. Amid the Houthi slogans against the West and their missiles directed at the Qibla of Muslims, the reality of a project that does not hesitate to threaten holy sites is revealed, using religion as a cover for their aggression and a tool to mislead their followers.
The brief warning, despite its short duration, carried clear implications regarding the level of field readiness and confirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to protecting the two holy mosques and the surrounding areas in the face of Houthi attacks that deliberately target civilian objects and populated areas.
Saudi Arabia will not relent in protecting holy sites
Saudi Arabia emphasized that it will not relent in protecting its sovereignty and national security, affirming its readiness to take necessary defensive measures to deter Houthi attacks and ensure the safety of citizens and residents while safeguarding vital facilities, confronting the criminal approach of the group, and neutralizing sources of threat by all legitimate means.
The targeting of the Houthi terrorist militia against Mecca and civilian facilities is an extension of its escalating hostile approach and its attacks that deliberately target protected sites and populated areas, reflecting its nature as a rebellious group that uses force outside the framework of legitimacy and adopts criminal practices that disregard the sanctity of religion and the holiness of sacred places.
They exploit slogans and target the noblest places
The potential Houthi threat announced by the Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia yesterday clearly exposed the false discourse behind which the militia hides, as it raises Islamic slogans and claims to defend its causes while targeting the holiest places on earth without regard for their sanctity or significance to Muslims worldwide.
This contradiction exposes the reality of the group, which employs religion as a political cover to serve regional agendas unrelated to the values or principles of Islam. The terrorist attack coincides with assaults carried out against cities and civilian sites, reflecting a single pattern for these groups that do not hesitate to threaten or target the two holy mosques, in a serious violation of all religious and humanitarian values, and a clear readiness to carry out attacks that serve narrow political interests without any legal or moral deterrent.
Islamic law mandates the preservation of the sanctity of the two holy mosques and their protection, prohibiting any aggression against them or exposing them to danger, as they are centers for the worship of God and the hearts of Muslims; thus, any targeting of them is a religious crime before it is a legal one.
False slogans and blatant contradictions
Every time the Houthis announce their responsibility for missile or drone attacks towards Saudi Arabia, specifically in the vicinity of Mecca or Jeddah or areas close to the sanctuary, the painful question resurfaces: How can a group that raises the slogan "Death to America, Death to Israel" direct its fire towards the Qibla of Muslims and the hearts of their faithful?
This blatant contradiction between the slogan and the practice is no longer just a passing observation; it has become a central theme in evaluating the Houthi discourse and their project, opening the door to a deeper understanding of their true motives.
The Houthis present themselves as part of a "Resistance Axis!" that confronts what they call "Western and Zionist hegemony." This false slogan provides them with emotional cover among the misled and deceived. On the ground, there is no direct confrontation between the Houthis and America or Israel, while the majority of their military operations are directed towards the interior of Yemen and against neighboring countries, targeting areas close to sacred places or threatening air and maritime navigation routes. All of this places them in the category of those who use the "issue of hostility to the West" as a facade while engaging in a political, sectarian, and regional struggle in another direction.
