حدد دليل استخدام الهواتف المحمولة في مدارس التعليم العام ثلاثة خيارات لمديري المدارس لتطبيق سياسة حظر استخدام الهواتف طوال اليوم الدراسي؛ بهدف توفير بيئة تعليمية خالية من المشتتات، وتعزيز تركيز الطلبة ومشاركتهم في الأنشطة.
وتشمل الخيارات منع إحضار الهواتف إلى المدرسة نهائياً، أو تسليمها للموظف المختص عند الدخول واستعادتها بنهاية اليوم الدراسي، أو حفظها في خزائن مخصصة ومؤمنة بأرقام سرية، على أن تضع كل مدرسة الإجراءات التي تتناسب مع إمكاناتها وواقعها.
حالات استثناء للطلبة ذوي الإعاقة
وأكد الدليل ضرورة تخصيص رقم للطلبة داخل المدرسة للتواصل مع أولياء أمورهم عند الحاجة، مع دراسة حالات الاستثناء للطلبة ذوي الإعاقة أو من لديهم تقارير طبية، دون إعفائهم من العقوبات عند إساءة استخدام الهاتف.
وأوصى الدليل بضبط استخدام الهواتف خلال الأنشطة خارج أوقات الدوام، كالرحلات والزيارات الميدانية، بما يضمن استفادة الطلبة ومشاركتهم الفاعلة.
من جهته، أوضح الخبير التربوي الدكتور حضيض السلمي أن منع الهواتف يسهم في دمج الطلبة في الواقع المدرسي، وتنمية مهارات التواصل، وتمكين المعلمين من أداء أدوارهم بعيداً عن المشتتات. ودعا الأسرة إلى دعم تعليمات المدرسة ووضع ضوابط لاستخدام الهواتف في المنزل.
The Mobile Phone Usage Guidelines in Public Education Schools outline three options for school administrators to implement a policy banning phone use throughout the school day; aimed at providing a distraction-free learning environment and enhancing student focus and participation in activities.
The options include a complete ban on bringing phones to school, handing them over to the designated staff upon entry and retrieving them at the end of the school day, or storing them in dedicated and secure lockers with secret codes, with each school to establish procedures that fit its capabilities and reality.
Exceptions for Students with Disabilities
The guidelines emphasized the necessity of allocating a number for students within the school to communicate with their parents when needed, while considering exceptions for students with disabilities or those with medical reports, without exempting them from penalties for misuse of the phone.
The guidelines also recommended regulating phone use during activities outside of school hours, such as trips and field visits, to ensure students benefit and participate actively.
For his part, educational expert Dr. Hadeeth Al-Sulami explained that banning phones contributes to integrating students into the school environment, developing communication skills, and enabling teachers to perform their roles away from distractions. He called on families to support the school's instructions and establish regulations for phone use at home.
