أدانت المملكة العربية السعودية بأشد العبارات الاعتداءات الإرهابية والإجرامية التي شنتها مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية واستهدفت أعيانًا مدنية واقتصادية في أبها وخميس مشيط وجازان ونجران، وأسفرت عن إصابة 73 مدنيًا، من بينهم نساء وأطفال.
جاء ذلك في كلمة ألقاها المندوب الدائم للمملكة العربية السعودية لدى الأمم المتحدة السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل، خلال الجلسة الطارئة التي عقدها مجلس الأمن الدولي لبحث اعتداءات مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية على المملكة.
وحذّر السفير الواصل من خطورة التصعيد الحوثي وتداعياته على أمن المنطقة، مؤكدًا أن هذه الاعتداءات لا تستهدف أمن المملكة ومواطنيها ومقدراتها فحسب، بل تمثل أيضًا تهديدًا للملاحة والتجارة الدولية في البحر الأحمر ومضيق باب المندب. ودعا مجلس الأمن الدولي إلى اتخاذ موقف واضح وحازم تجاه هذه الاعتداءات، بما يضطلع معه المجلس بمسؤولياته في حفظ الأمن والسلم الدوليين.
وشدد على ضرورة ضمان التنفيذ الكامل لقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، ووقف جميع أشكال الدعم التي تمكّن مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية من مواصلة سلوكها العدائي واعتداءاتها التي تهدد أمن المنطقة والممرات الملاحية الدولية. وأكد السفير الدكتور الواصل حق المملكة المشروع في الدفاع عن نفسها، وحماية أمنها وسيادتها ومواطنيها والمقيمين على أراضيها ومقدراتها الوطنية، وفقًا لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وأحكام القانون الدولي.
وجدد موقف المملكة الثابت تجاه الجمهورية اليمنية، القائم على الحفاظ على وحدتها وسيادتها واستقلالها وسلامة أراضيها، مؤكدًا استمرار دعم المملكة للتوصل إلى حل سياسي شامل ومستدام للأزمة اليمنية بقيادة يمنية، بما يحقق الأمن والاستقرار ويلبي تطلعات الشعب اليمني.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist and criminal attacks launched by the Houthi militia, which targeted civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, resulting in the injury of 73 civilians, including women and children.
This was stated in a speech delivered by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, during the emergency session held by the United Nations Security Council to discuss the Houthi militia's attacks on the Kingdom.
Ambassador Al-Wasel warned of the dangers of Houthi escalation and its implications for the security of the region, emphasizing that these attacks not only target the security of the Kingdom, its citizens, and its resources, but also represent a threat to navigation and international trade in the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. He called on the United Nations Security Council to take a clear and firm stance regarding these attacks, so that the Council can fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security.
He stressed the necessity of ensuring the full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions and stopping all forms of support that enable the Houthi militia to continue its hostile behavior and attacks that threaten the security of the region and international shipping routes. Ambassador Dr. Al-Wasel affirmed the Kingdom's legitimate right to defend itself, protect its security, sovereignty, citizens, residents on its territory, and its national resources, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law.
He reiterated the Kingdom's steadfast position regarding the Republic of Yemen, which is based on preserving its unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, affirming the Kingdom's continued support for reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis led by Yemenis, achieving security and stability, and meeting the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
