صنف مؤشر الابتكار العالمي مدينة الرياض ضمن أفضل 100 تجمع ابتكاري على مستوى العالم لعام 2026، وفقًا لعدد من المؤشرات الابتكارية والبحثية التي حققت فيها المدينة تقدمًا ملحوظًا تماشيًا مع ما يحظى به قطاع البحث والتطوير والابتكار من دعم وتمكين.
واحتلت الرياض المرتبة (92) عالميًا، لتكون المدينة الخليجية الوحيدة ضمن التصنيف، وقد تضمن التقرير أبرز الأرقام التي مكنتها من تحقيق مرتبة متقدمة، ومنها إبرام 419 صفقة لرأس المال الجريء في مجال الابتكار، وتقديمها 162 طلبًا دوليًا للحصول على براءات الاختراع.
وأشار التقرير الصادر عن مؤشر الابتكار العالمي إلى أبرز الجهات التي أسهمت في تحقيق العاصمة كمركز متقدم في المجالات البحثية والابتكارية، ففي مجال الأبحاث تأتي جامعة الملك سعود وجامعة الأميرة نورة وجامعة الأمير سلطان، أما في مجال الابتكار فتأتي كل من سابك وأرامكو.
ويأتي تصنيف الرياض من أفضل 100 تجمع ابتكاري عالمي في سياق تضافر جهود المنظومة البحثية والابتكارية على مستوى المملكة، وتكاملها لتقديم الدعم والتمكين للباحثين والمبتكرين، وتوفير الحوافز التي تسهم في نمو القطاع، وتعزيز تنافسيته على المستوى الدولي، بما يتواءم مع مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030.
The Global Innovation Index classified Riyadh among the top 100 innovative hubs in the world for the year 2026, according to a number of innovative and research indicators in which the city has made significant progress, in line with the support and empowerment that the research, development, and innovation sector receives.
Riyadh ranked (92) globally, making it the only Gulf city in the ranking. The report highlighted key figures that enabled it to achieve a prominent position, including the conclusion of 419 venture capital deals in the field of innovation and the submission of 162 international patent applications.
The report issued by the Global Innovation Index pointed out the main entities that contributed to establishing the capital as an advanced center in research and innovation fields. In the field of research, King Saud University, Princess Nourah University, and Prince Sultan University are prominent, while in the field of innovation, both SABIC and Aramco stand out.
Riyadh's classification among the top 100 innovative hubs globally comes in the context of the collaborative efforts of the research and innovation ecosystem at the national level, integrating to provide support and empowerment for researchers and innovators, and offering incentives that contribute to the growth of the sector and enhance its competitiveness internationally, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
