تدشّن الهيئة السعودية للمياه، في الأول من نوفمبر القادم، النسخة الافتتاحية من منتدى تنظيم المياه (Water Regulation Forum) في مدينة الرياض، ليكون منصة عالمية سنوية لتعزيز التميز التنظيمي والتعاون الدولي في قطاع المياه، بالشراكة الإستراتيجية مع الجمعية الدولية لتحلية المياه وإعادة استخدامها «IDRA».
ويجمع المنتدى منظمي المياه وصنّاع السياسات والخبراء وقادة القطاع من مختلف دول العالم، بمشاركة 28 متحدثاً من 24 دولة، و4 منظمات دولية و25 جهة حكومية، بما يعكس تنوع التجارب والنماذج التنظيمية المشاركة، ويتيح استعراض التجارب التنظيمية وتبادل الخبرات حول تطوير الأطر التنظيمية والحوكمة في قطاع المياه.
ويُنظم المنتدى في سياق تطورات متسارعة يشهدها قطاع المياه عالمياً، تتطلب أطراً تنظيمية قادرة على مواكبة التحولات في الموارد والخدمات والتقنيات ونماذج الاستثمار، فيما تختلف سبل التعامل مع هذه التحولات من دولة إلى أخرى، وفق طبيعة مواردها المائية وأطرها المؤسسية والتنظيمية.
وتتناول أعمال المنتدى أبرز قضايا تنظيم القطاع عالمياً، بما يشمل الحوكمة، وإدارة الندرة، والامتثال، وأداء المرافق، والشراكة مع القطاع الخاص والتمويل، وإعادة الاستخدام، والتكامل التنظيمي، من خلال استعراض تجارب دولية متنوعة.
وينعقد المنتدى بالتزامن مع المؤتمر العالمي لتحلية المياه وإعادة استخدامها (IDRA World Congress 2026)، الذي تستضيفه المملكة في الرياض خلال الفترة من 1 إلى 5 نوفمبر 2026، برعاية وزير البيئة والمياه والزراعة، في مركز الملك فيصل للمؤتمرات بفندق إنتركونتيننتال الرياض.
ومن المقرر أن يشهد الإعلان عن منصة لتبادل المعرفة والخبرات وتعزيز التعاون بين الجهات التنظيمية حول العالم، على أن تنطلق نسختها الأولى عام 2027.
The Saudi Water Authority will launch the inaugural edition of the Water Regulation Forum in Riyadh on November 1st, which will serve as an annual global platform to enhance regulatory excellence and international cooperation in the water sector, in strategic partnership with the International Desalination and Water Reuse Association (IDRA).
The forum will bring together water regulators, policymakers, experts, and sector leaders from various countries around the world, featuring 28 speakers from 24 countries, 4 international organizations, and 25 government entities, reflecting the diversity of experiences and regulatory models involved, and allowing for the presentation of regulatory experiences and the exchange of knowledge on developing regulatory frameworks and governance in the water sector.
The forum is organized in the context of rapid developments occurring in the global water sector, which require regulatory frameworks capable of keeping pace with changes in resources, services, technologies, and investment models, while the approaches to dealing with these transformations vary from one country to another, depending on the nature of their water resources and their institutional and regulatory frameworks.
The forum will address the most prominent issues of sector regulation globally, including governance, scarcity management, compliance, facility performance, partnerships with the private sector and financing, reuse, and regulatory integration, through the presentation of diverse international experiences.
The forum will be held concurrently with the IDRA World Congress 2026, which will be hosted by the Kingdom in Riyadh from November 1 to 5, 2026, under the patronage of the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, at the King Faisal Conference Center at the InterContinental Hotel in Riyadh.
It is expected that the announcement will be made regarding a platform for knowledge and experience exchange to enhance cooperation among regulatory entities worldwide, with its first edition set to launch in 2027.
