The National Center of Meteorology expected in its weather report for today (Friday) that thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds will occur in parts of the regions of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the highlands of the Makkah region. Meanwhile, the effects of active winds stirring up dust and sand will continue in parts of the Medina and Makkah regions, especially along the coast. The maximum temperatures will remain high in the Eastern region and parts of the Riyadh region, with fog formation during the early morning hours along the coastal areas of the Eastern region, especially in the south.
The report indicated that the surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at a speed of 20-40 km/h in the northern and southern parts, and northwesterly to northerly at a speed of 18-45 km/h in the central part, reaching more than 50 km/h, with the formation of thunderstorm clouds bringing rain in the southern part and wave heights ranging from one to two meters, exceeding two meters with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part, while the sea state will be moderate with waves reaching choppy due to the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part.
Meanwhile, the wind movement over the Arabian Gulf will be southwesterly to southeasterly in the northern and central parts, and northeasterly to northwesterly in the southern part at a speed of 10-28 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one meter, and the sea state will be light.
