في ليلة حبست أنفاس اليمنيين، تحولت الأمطار الموسمية التي ينتظرها الأهالي للخير والزراعة إلى مشهد كابوسي ترتعد له القلوب، بعدما استعرت السماء بصواعق رعدية عنيفة ضربت الجبال والسهول، ومسحت هدوء البيوت لتخلف وراءها فاجعة إنسانية جديدة حصدت أرواح 4 أشخاص في 3 محافظات يمنية.
لم تمنح الشحنات الكهربائية المتفجرة في السماء ضحاياها فرصة للهرب، بل باغتتهم في تفاصيل حياتهم اليومية عبر مواقع متفرقة:
- فاجعة المحويت: ضربت صاعقتان جداريتان منطقتين ريفيتين في مديريتي «ملحان» و«المحويت»، ما أسفر عن مصرع يمنيين اثنين في الحال، أحدهما شاب في مقتبل العمر كان يحاول الاحتماء من غزارة المطر.
- اختراق جدران المنازل (صنعاء): في مشاهد تجسد قسوة هذه الموجة، اقتحمت صاعقة رعدية منزلاً ببلدة «بيت الجالد» في مديرية أرحب بشمال شرقي العاصمة، لتنهي حياة شخص ظن أنه آمن داخل بيته.
- صراع متأخر مع الموت (حجة): وفي بلدة «الغرابي» التابعة لمديرية الشغادرة، تلقى جسد شاب ضربة صاعقة حارقة، ونُقل على إثرها في حالة حرجة للمستشفى، لكنه فارق الحياة متأثراً بإصاباته البالغة.
هذه الليالي المرعبة ليست الأولى من نوعها، إذ تأتي بعد أيام قليلة من رحيل 4 آخرين منتصف الأسبوع جراء ضربات مماثلة اجتاحت محافظات الحديدة، وعمران، والمحويت، لترتسم حالة من الهلع بين الأهالي كلما أظلمت السماء وتصاعدت أصوات الرعد.
ووفقاً لأحدث تقارير مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية (OCHA)، فإن تقلبات الطقس والصواعق المتلاحقة منذ مارس الماضي تسببت في مصرع وإصابة أكثر من 110 يمنيين في مختلف المحافظات. ويستمر إطلاق تحذيرات عاجلة للسكان بضرورة تجنب الأماكن المرتفعة، وإغلاق الهواتف والأجهزة الكهربائية أثناء العواصف، في وقت أصبحت فيه «سماء اليمن» مصدر خطر دائم يترصد الجميع.
On a night that held the breath of Yemenis, the seasonal rains that the locals await for prosperity and agriculture turned into a nightmarish scene that made hearts tremble, as the sky erupted with violent thunderbolts that struck the mountains and plains, erasing the tranquility of homes and leaving behind a new humanitarian tragedy that claimed the lives of 4 people in 3 Yemeni governorates.
The explosive electrical charges in the sky did not give their victims a chance to escape; instead, they ambushed them in the details of their daily lives across various locations:
- Tragedy in Al-Mahwit: Two wall lightning strikes hit rural areas in the districts of "Malhan" and "Al-Mahwit," resulting in the immediate death of two Yemenis, one of whom was a young man trying to seek shelter from the heavy rain.
- Breaking into homes (Sana'a): In scenes that embody the cruelty of this wave, a thunderbolt invaded a house in the town of "Bayt Al-Jald" in the Arhab district northeast of the capital, ending the life of a person who thought he was safe inside his home.
- A delayed struggle with death (Hajjah): In the town of "Al-Gharabi" in the Al-Shaghadirah district, a young man's body received a scorching lightning strike, and he was transported in critical condition to the hospital, but he succumbed to his severe injuries.
These terrifying nights are not the first of their kind, as they come just days after the death of 4 others in the middle of the week due to similar strikes that swept through the governorates of Al-Hudaydah, Amran, and Al-Mahwit, creating a state of panic among the locals every time the sky darkens and the sounds of thunder rise.
According to the latest reports from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the fluctuations in weather and the successive lightning strikes since last March have resulted in the death and injury of more than 110 Yemenis across various governorates. Urgent warnings continue to be issued to residents to avoid high places and to turn off phones and electrical devices during storms, at a time when the "sky of Yemen" has become a constant source of danger lurking for everyone.
