يشكّل جبل «أبو الهول»، الواقع قرب قرية أبا الحيران جنوب غربي منطقة حائل، على بُعد نحو 120 كيلومتراً، ضمن سلسلة جبال أجا، نتيجة عوامل التعرية والتجوية التي تعرض لها عبر آلاف السنين؛ ما أوجد تكويناً صخرياً فريداً يشبه رأس الإنسان، وأكسبه هذه التسمية، وجعله أحد أبرز المعالم الطبيعية والسياحية في المنطقة.
ووفقاً للباحث في التاريخ والفلك القديم مشاري النشمي، يتميز الجبل بتنوع جيولوجي لافت، إذ تنتشر حوله تشكيلات صخرية متعددة الأشكال والأحجام، تشكلت بفعل تداخل عوامل التجوية الفيزيائية والكيميائية مع تأثيرات الأمطار والرطوبة عبر فترات زمنية طويلة؛ ما أوجد مشاهد طبيعية فريدة تتباين ملامحها باختلاف زوايا الرؤية والمسافات.
ويُعد الموقع من البيئات الغنية بالظواهر الجيولوجية المتنوعة، الأمر الذي يعزز قيمته الطبيعية، ويجعله مقصداً للمهتمين بالتكوينات الصخرية والزوار القادمين إلى منطقة حائل.
The "Abu al-Hawl" mountain, located near the village of Aba al-Hiran in the southwestern region of Ha'il, about 120 kilometers away, is part of the Aja mountain range. It has been shaped by erosion and weathering over thousands of years, resulting in a unique rock formation that resembles a human head, which is how it got its name and made it one of the most prominent natural and tourist landmarks in the area.
According to researcher in ancient history and astronomy, Mishari al-Nashmi, the mountain is distinguished by its remarkable geological diversity, as various rock formations of different shapes and sizes are scattered around it. These formations were created by the interplay of physical and chemical weathering factors along with the effects of rain and humidity over long periods of time, resulting in unique natural scenes whose features vary with different angles of view and distances.
The site is considered one of the rich environments with diverse geological phenomena, which enhances its natural value and makes it a destination for those interested in rock formations and visitors coming to the Ha'il region.
