وبحسب مصدر أمني فضل عدم الكشف عن هويته، فإن الخيوط الأولى للتحقيقات تشير إلى تورط شخصين على الأقل في التخطيط والتنفيذ. وقد استهل الجانيان جريمتهما باعتداء وحشي على سائق سيارة أجرة «تاكسي»، إذ قيداه ووضَعاه رهينة داخل الصندوق الخلفي للمركبة التي استخدماها لتنفيذ السطو والفرار نحو خارج المدينة قبل التخلص من السيارة وسائقها الذي عُثر عليه لاحقاً على حاله.
أما داخل مقر شركة الصرافة، فقد وثقت كاميرات المراقبة تفاصيل مروعة لسيناريو الجريمة؛ إذ أظهر التسجيل اقتحام أحد المهاجمين المكان قفزاً فوق الحواجز شاهراً سكيناً، لينهال بالضرب المبرح وطعن أحد الموظفين بعد إسقاطه أرضاً، ما خلف إصابات بالغة استدعت نقله عاجلاً لتلقي جراحات دقيقة ومكثفة.
أثارت هذه الحادثة -التي تُعد الأولى من نوعها في المنطقة المعروفة بحضورها الأمني المكثف ورقابتها الصارمة- استنفاراً واسعاً؛ إذ تعكف الأجهزة الأمنية حالياً على تفريغ كاميرات المراقبة، وتتبع خط سير السيارة المستولى عليها، وسماع إفادات الضحايا والشهود لضبط الجانيين وتقديمهما للعدالة في أسرع وقت.
