ترأس وزير البلديات والإسكان ماجد الحقيل، اليوم (الأحد)، وفد السعودية المشارك في أعمال المنتدى السياسي الرفيع المستوى المعني بالتنمية المستدامة (HLPF)، الذي تنظمه الأمم المتحدة، وذلك خلال زيارته إلى مدينة نيويورك.
وتأتي مشاركة المملكة في إطار حضورها الفاعل في المحافل الدولية المعنية بالتنمية المستدامة، واستعراض ما حققته من منجزات في التنمية الحضرية ضمن مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، بما يعكس التحول الذي تشهده المدن السعودية في تعزيز كفاءة البنية الحضرية، ورفع جودة الحياة، وتطوير البيئة العمرانية، وبناء مدن أكثر استدامة وقدرة على دعم النمو الاقتصادي.
ويشارك الحقيل في الجلسة الرئيسية للمنتدى، ويلقي كلمة المملكة، مستعرضًا التجربة السعودية في التنمية الحضرية، ودور المدن في دعم التنمية المستدامة، وتعزيز التكامل بين التخطيط الحضري، والاقتصاد، وجودة الحياة، بما يواكب المستهدفات العالمية للتنمية المستدامة.
وتؤكد مشاركة المملكة في المنتدى التزامها بمواصلة الإسهام في الجهود الدولية الهادفة إلى بناء مدن مستدامة، وتبادل التجارب والخبرات، وإبراز النموذج السعودي في التنمية الحضرية بوصفه أحد النماذج الرائدة التي تجمع بين التخطيط طويل المدى، والتنمية الاقتصادية، والارتقاء بجودة الحياة.
Today (Sunday), Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Huqail chaired the Saudi delegation participating in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), organized by the United Nations, during his visit to New York City.
The Kingdom's participation comes as part of its active presence in international forums concerned with sustainable development, showcasing its achievements in urban development within the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, reflecting the transformation taking place in Saudi cities to enhance urban infrastructure efficiency, improve quality of life, develop the built environment, and build more sustainable cities capable of supporting economic growth.
Al-Huqail is participating in the main session of the forum and delivering the Kingdom's speech, highlighting the Saudi experience in urban development, the role of cities in supporting sustainable development, and enhancing the integration between urban planning, the economy, and quality of life, in line with global sustainable development targets.
The Kingdom's participation in the forum reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to international efforts aimed at building sustainable cities, exchanging experiences and expertise, and showcasing the Saudi model in urban development as one of the leading models that combine long-term planning, economic development, and improving quality of life.
