اختتم الوفد السعودي برئاسة نائب وزير الصحة للتخطيط المهندس عبدالعزيز الرميح، مشاركته في مؤتمر BIO الدولي للتقنية الحيوية 2026، الذي أُقيم بمدينة سان دييغو الأمريكية، محققًا عددًا من المخرجات النوعية بين توقيع اتفاقيات وشراكات إستراتيجية مع جهات دولية رائدة، لدعم تحقيق مستهدفات برنامج تحوّل القطاع الصحي المنبثق عن رؤية 2030 والإستراتيجية الوطنية للتقنية الحيوية، وتعزيز مكانة السعودية في التقنية الحيوية والابتكار الصحي على المستوى الإقليمي والعالمي.
وشهدت المشاركة إطلاق مبادرة «Launch in Saudi» لتسريع إتاحة الابتكارات الصحية والعلاجات النوعية في السعودية إلى جانب توقيع عدد من الشراكات بين شركات وطنية ونظيراتها العالمية في قطاعَي الابتكار الدوائي والتقنية الحيوية؛ لتعزيز الأبحاث الطبية الحيوية المدعومة بالذكاء الاصطناعي، وتوطين التقنيات الحيوية المتقدّمة، وفي مجالات التطوير الدوائي والعلاجات المناعية، بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من الاتفاقيات بين شركات سعودية وشركات عالمية رائدة.
ونظّمت وزارة الصحة طاولة مستديرة حول تعزيز الاستثمار في التجارب السريرية بالمملكة، بمشاركة 40 قائدًا من الشركات العالمية ومنظمات البحوث التعاقدية الدولية، كما عقد الوفد السعودي أكثر من 30 لقاءً إستراتيجيًا، وتنظيم جلسة حوارية لاستعراض تجربة المملكة في بناء منظومة تقنية حيوية تنافسية، وتطور البيئة الاستثمارية والتنظيمية، إلى جانب عددٍ من الزيارات لكبرى الشركات والمراكز العالمية، في مجالات عدة منها الطب الدقيق، والصحة الرقمية والابتكار الدوائي؛ بهدف نقل المعرفة، واستكشاف فرص الاستثمار والتعاون.
المملكة تستضيف BIO في ديسمبر
تستضيف المملكةمؤتمر BIO الشرق الأوسط للتقنية الحيوية في الفترة من 14 إلى 16 ديسمبر 2026، في خطوة تعكس حضورها المتنامي كمركز إقليمي للابتكار الصحي والبحث والتطوير، ويُعد مؤتمر BIO الدولي للتقنية الحيوية أكبر تجمع عالمي لقطاع التقنية الحيوية، ويستقطب سنويًا أكثر من 20 ألف مشارك من أكثر من 70 دولة، ويجمع القادة والمستثمرين والجهات البحثية والتنظيمية لاستعراض أحدث الابتكارات وبناء الشراكات في مجالات التقنية الحيوية والعلوم الصحية.
The Saudi delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Health for Planning, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih, concluded its participation in the 2026 BIO International Conference on Biotechnology, held in San Diego, USA, achieving several qualitative outcomes, including signing agreements and strategic partnerships with leading international entities. This aims to support the achievement of the targets of the Health Sector Transformation Program stemming from Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy, as well as to enhance Saudi Arabia's position in biotechnology and health innovation at both regional and global levels.
The participation witnessed the launch of the "Launch in Saudi" initiative to accelerate the availability of health innovations and quality treatments in Saudi Arabia, alongside signing several partnerships between national companies and their global counterparts in the pharmaceutical innovation and biotechnology sectors. This is intended to enhance biomedical research supported by artificial intelligence, localize advanced biotechnology, and develop in the fields of pharmaceutical development and immunotherapy, in addition to a series of agreements between Saudi companies and leading global firms.
The Ministry of Health organized a roundtable on enhancing investment in clinical trials in the Kingdom, with the participation of 40 leaders from global companies and international contract research organizations. The Saudi delegation also held more than 30 strategic meetings and organized a discussion session to showcase the Kingdom's experience in building a competitive biotechnology system, the development of the investment and regulatory environment, along with several visits to major global companies and centers in various fields, including precision medicine, digital health, and pharmaceutical innovation, with the aim of transferring knowledge and exploring investment and collaboration opportunities.
Saudi Arabia Hosts BIO in December
Saudi Arabia will host the BIO Middle East Conference on Biotechnology from December 14 to 16, 2026, in a move that reflects its growing presence as a regional hub for health innovation and research and development. The BIO International Conference on Biotechnology is the largest global gathering for the biotechnology sector, attracting over 20,000 participants annually from more than 70 countries, bringing together leaders, investors, and research and regulatory entities to showcase the latest innovations and build partnerships in the fields of biotechnology and health sciences.
