رئيس مجلس الشورى يشارك في المؤتمر الثامن للبرلمان العربي

The eighth conference of the Arab Parliament and the heads of Arab councils and parliaments commenced today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia headed by the Chairman of the Shura Council and President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh. The conference is attended by the heads of Arab councils and parliaments, delegation heads, and the President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, and is organized by the Arab Parliament in cooperation and coordination with the Arab Parliamentary Union.

The Chairman of the Shura Council and President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, indicated in his speech during the opening of the conference that the Kingdom had the honor of assuming the presidency of the Arab Parliamentary Union during the 39th session of the Arab Parliamentary Union, under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and with the support of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He affirmed that "the Kingdom's presidency of the Arab Parliamentary Union during the 39th session is a responsibility we cherish and view as a mandate that reflects trust and embodies the collective commitment to continue the Union's journey in a way that meets the aspirations of our Arab and Islamic peoples for security, stability, development, and prosperity."

The Chairman of the Shura Council and President of the Arab Parliamentary Union welcomed the heads of Arab councils and parliaments and the President of the Arab Parliament in his speech, noting that the eighth conference of the Arab Parliament is held in cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the Arab Parliamentary Union, on an occasion that embodies the deep ties that unite Arab parliamentary institutions and confirms the shared commitment to enhance work and develop its mechanisms.

He pointed out that "the Arab Parliamentary Union has proven throughout its journey, as has the Arab Parliament, the importance of joint parliamentary work as one of the supportive paths for dialogue, coordination, and the exchange of experiences and visions among Arab parliaments, which multiplies our shared responsibilities to continue working in the spirit of solidarity and cooperation, and to enhance Arab parliamentary coordination in a way that serves the interests of our peoples and meets their aspirations."

At the end of his speech, Dr. Abdullah Al Sheikh expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, and to all those involved in organizing this conference, wishing for its proceedings every success and that its discussions and outcomes contribute to enhancing Arab parliamentary cooperation and solidifying the path of joint Arab action.

The delegation accompanying the Chairman of the Shura Council includes the Secretary-General of the Shura Council, Mohammed bin Dakhel Al-Mutairi, the first deputy chairman of the Arab Parliament, Saad bin Sulaib Al-Otaibi, and council member and Arab Parliament member, Dr. Tarek bin Saeed Al-Shammari.
