أكدت نشرة متخصصة في شؤون السكك الحديد، أن السعودية تتقدّم في مشروعها العملاق لبناء «الجسر البري»، الذي سيعبر الجزيرة العربية، ليربط مدينتَي الجبيل والدمام الصناعيّتَين على ساحل الخليج بالعاصمة الرياض، وجدة على الساحل الغربي للبحر الأحمر. وتبلغ كلفة الجسر البري، الذي يمتد مسافة 1,500 كيلومتر، 7 مليارات دولار.
ويأتي هذا الجسر البري ضمن مشاريع رؤية 2030، الهادفة لتحديث السعودية، وتعزيز قدراتها الاقتصادية. وأشارت نشرة «إي إن آر» إلى أن العمل في بناء الجسر البري بدأ فعلياً في ديسمبر 2025، وأرست مؤسسة السكك الحديد السعودية عقد تصميم الجسر على شركة إسبانية في أبريل 2026. ولم يتأثر العمل في الجسر البري بالحرب التي دارت في المنطقة أخيراً لمدة 100 يوم. وأدت الحرب، التي شهدت إغلاق مضيق هرمز الحيوي، إلى التعجيل ببناء الجسر البري، الذي يتوقّع أن يكتمل بحلول العام 2034. ويوفر الجسر البري إلى جانب نقل المواد، التي تنتجها المدينتان الصناعيتان في الدمام والجبيل، فرصة لخدمة نقل الركاب بقطارات تصل سرعة بعضها إلى 250 كيلومتراً في الساعة، فيما ستكون سرعة القطارات الناقلة للمواد الصناعية 160 كيلومتراً في الساعة. وكان قطاع الدمام - الجبيل قد تم افتتاح تشغيله في أبريل 2024. ويتضمّن المشروع قطاعاً من خط حديدي مزدوج طوله 950 كيلومتراً لنقل البضائع والركاب من الرياض إلى جدة. وسيتم تمديد الجسر البري ليصل إلى مدينة ينبع الصناعية وميناء الملك عبدالله. ويوفر صندوق الاستثمارات العامة السعودي التمويل لهذا المشروع العملاق، ويعمل على تكامل المشروع مع المبادرات الأخرى الواردة في رؤية 2030.
A specialized newsletter on railways confirmed that Saudi Arabia is advancing in its giant project to build the "land bridge," which will cross the Arabian Peninsula, connecting the industrial cities of Jubail and Dammam on the Gulf coast with the capital Riyadh and Jeddah on the western coast of the Red Sea. The cost of the land bridge, which extends for 1,500 kilometers, is $7 billion.
This land bridge is part of the Vision 2030 projects aimed at modernizing Saudi Arabia and enhancing its economic capabilities. The "ENR" newsletter indicated that construction of the land bridge officially began in December 2025, and the Saudi Railways Organization awarded the design contract for the bridge to a Spanish company in April 2026. The work on the land bridge was not affected by the war that recently took place in the region for 100 days. The war, which saw the closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz, accelerated the construction of the land bridge, which is expected to be completed by 2034. In addition to transporting materials produced by the two industrial cities in Dammam and Jubail, the land bridge will provide an opportunity for passenger transport services with trains that can reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour, while the trains transporting industrial materials will travel at 160 kilometers per hour. The Dammam - Jubail sector was opened for operation in April 2024. The project includes a section of a double railway line that is 950 kilometers long for transporting goods and passengers from Riyadh to Jeddah. The land bridge will be extended to reach the industrial city of Yanbu and King Abdullah Port. The Saudi Public Investment Fund is financing this giant project and is working to integrate it with other initiatives outlined in Vision 2030.
