عقدت اللجنة الوطنية للصناعات العسكرية اجتماعها التنسيقي الثالث في مقر اتحاد الغرف السعودية بالرياض، بمشاركة محافظ الهيئة العامة للصناعات العسكرية المهندس أحمد عبدالعزيز العوهلي، وعدد من كبار مسؤولي الهيئة، ورئيس اللجنة الوطنية للصناعات العسكرية سلمان الشثري، إلى جانب أعضاء اللجنة من ممثلي الشركات العاملة في القطاع.
وأشاد المهندس العوهلي، بالدور الذي تقوم به اللجنة الوطنية للصناعات العسكرية، وما تبذله من جهود لتعزيز التكامل بين الجهات الحكومية والقطاع الخاص، مؤكداً أن الاجتماعات التنسيقية تُسهم في تسريع وتيرة التوطين وتطوير وتمكين قطاع الصناعات العسكرية، بما يدعم بناء منظومة صناعات عسكرية محلية ومستدامة تتوافق مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
من جانبه، أوضح رئيس اللجنة الوطنية للصناعات العسكرية الشثري، أن الاجتماع يمثل منصة مهمة لتوحيد الجهود وتنسيق المبادرات المشتركة، مشيراً إلى أنه جرى خلاله استعراض أبرز النتائج المتحققة نتيجة التعاون بين الهيئة واللجنة خلال الفترة الماضية، التي أسهمت في دعم نمو القطاع وتعزيز جاذبيته الاستثمارية.
ويأتي هذا الاجتماع، في إطار تعزيز العمل التكاملي بين الهيئة وشركائها من القطاعين العام والخاص؛ بهدف توطين أكثر من 50% من الإنفاق العسكري بحلول 2030. وقد بلغت مساهمة القطاع في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي 6.67 مليار ريال بنهاية 2024. ويُذكر، أن اتحاد الغرف السعودية كان قد أعلن في مارس 2024، تشكيل أول لجنة وطنية للصناعات العسكرية تحت مظلة القطاع الخاص.
توطين الإنفاق العسكري
كما ناقش الاجتماع الأعمال التشاركية بين الهيئة واللجنة، واستعرض ما تحقق في مسار توطين الإنفاق العسكري، إذ وصلت نسبة التوطين إلى 25% بنهاية 2024، متجاوزة المستهدف البالغ 20%، وذلك ضمن الجهود المستمرة لتحقيق مستهدفات رؤية 2030، من خلال تطوير التشريعات والسياسات، وتنفيذ البرامج والمبادرات الداعمة لتمكين الشركات المحلية من التوسع والنمو.
The National Committee for Military Industries held its third coordinating meeting at the headquarters of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce in Riyadh, with the participation of the Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, Engineer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Owhali, a number of senior officials from the authority, the Chairman of the National Committee for Military Industries, Salman Al-Shathri, along with committee members representing companies operating in the sector.
Engineer Al-Owhali praised the role played by the National Committee for Military Industries and its efforts to enhance integration between government entities and the private sector, affirming that the coordinating meetings contribute to accelerating the pace of localization and developing and empowering the military industries sector, in support of building a sustainable local military industries system that aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
For his part, the Chairman of the National Committee for Military Industries, Al-Shathri, explained that the meeting represents an important platform for unifying efforts and coordinating joint initiatives, noting that it reviewed the most significant results achieved from the cooperation between the authority and the committee during the past period, which contributed to supporting the sector's growth and enhancing its investment attractiveness.
This meeting comes as part of enhancing integrated work between the authority and its partners from the public and private sectors, with the aim of localizing more than 50% of military spending by 2030. The sector's contribution to the gross domestic product reached 6.67 billion riyals by the end of 2024. It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Chambers of Commerce announced in March 2024 the formation of the first National Committee for Military Industries under the umbrella of the private sector.
Localization of Military Spending
The meeting also discussed collaborative efforts between the authority and the committee, reviewing what has been achieved in the path of localizing military spending, as the localization rate reached 25% by the end of 2024, exceeding the target of 20%. This is part of ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030, through the development of legislation and policies, and the implementation of programs and initiatives that support enabling local companies to expand and grow.
