عزّزت الهيئة العامة للعناية بشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي، خدماتها لكبار السن وذوي الإعاقة، وشملت الخدمات: توفير مترجمي لغة الإشارة للخطب والدروس العلمية، إلى جانب سماعات مخصصة لضعاف السمع، ومصاحف مزودة بقلم قارئ لتيسير التلاوة، فضلًا عن أدوات مهيأة لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة تسهم في تسهيل تنقلهم وأدائهم للشعائر.
وفي إطار خدمات المكفوفين، وفّرت الهيئة مصاحف مكتوبة بطريقة «برايل»، إضافة إلى إتاحة العصي البيضاء لتيسير الحركة داخل أروقة المسجد الحرام وساحاته، بما يعزز استقلاليتهم ويضمن سلامتهم أثناء التنقل. وحددت الهيئة مواقع مهيأة للصلاة لكبار السن وذوي الإعاقة في عدد من المواقع الإستراتيجية داخل المسجد الحرام، إذ جرى تخصيص مواقع للرجال وفيما يخص المصليات المخصصة للنساء، جرى تجهيز مواقع أخرى.
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has enhanced its services for the elderly and people with disabilities. The services include: providing sign language interpreters for sermons and scientific lessons, along with specialized hearing aids for the hearing impaired, and copies of the Quran equipped with a reading pen to facilitate recitation, in addition to tools designed for individuals with special needs to assist in their mobility and performance of rituals.
As part of the services for the visually impaired, the authority has provided copies of the Quran written in Braille, in addition to making white canes available to facilitate movement within the corridors and courtyards of the Grand Mosque, thereby enhancing their independence and ensuring their safety while moving around. The authority has designated prayer areas for the elderly and people with disabilities in several strategic locations within the Grand Mosque, with specific areas allocated for men and additional sites prepared for women’s prayer areas.
