افتتح أمير منطقة عسير الأمير تركي بن طلال اليوم مهرجان الدُّخن الثالث بممشى النخيل في محافظة بارق، بإشراف وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة، وحضور مدير عام فرع وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بالمنطقة المهندس محمد آل عطيف، وعدد من المسؤولين والمهتمين بالشأن الزراعي، إلى جانب مشاركة واسعة من المزارعين المحليين والأُسر المنتجة. واطلع أمير عسير على الأركان المخصصة لعرض منتجات الدُّخن ومشتقاته، والأجنحة التعريفية للجهات ذات العلاقة بالقطاع الزراعي، إضافة إلى البرامج التوعوية والفعاليات المصاحبة.
تخصيص 22 ركناً للدُّخن والأُسر المنتجة
يتضمن المهرجان، الذي يستقبل زواره خلال الفترة المسائية لـ3 أيام، 22 ركناً مخصصة لمنتجي الدُّخن والأسر المنتجة إلى جانب مشاركة عدد من المراكز والإدارات ذات العلاقة، بما يسهم في تنوع المعروضات وتعزيز التكامل بين الجهات الداعمة للقطاع الزراعي.
هدف المهرجان
يهدف المهرجان إلى إبراز أهمية محصول الدُّخن بوصفه أحد المحاصيل الزراعية التراثية في محافظة بارق والمنطقة، لما يتمتع به من قيمة غذائية عالية وملاءمته للبيئة المحلية، ودوره في دعم الأمن الغذائي وتعزيز الممارسات الزراعية المستدامة، فيما يأتي تنظيم النسخة الثالثة بعد النجاحات التي حققتها النسختان السابقتان، وما شهدتاه من حضور وتفاعل مجتمعي واسع أسهما في استمرار إقامة المهرجان ضمن برامج وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة الداعمة للمزارعين والجمعيات التعاونية، وبالتكامل مع الجهات الرسمية ذات العلاقة.
دعم محصول الدُّخن
تواصل وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة دعمها لمحصول الدُّخن باعتباره منتجاً وطنياً ذا قيمة غذائية عالية، من خلال تطوير سلاسل إنتاجه وتسويقه، ورفع كفاءة الإنتاج المحلي، بما يحقق مستهدفات الأمن الغذائي ويتوافق مع رؤية المملكة 2030.
The Prince of Asir Region, Prince Turki bin Talal, today inaugurated the third Millet Festival at the Palm Walk in the Governorate of Baraq, under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, with the presence of the Director General of the Ministry's branch in the region, Engineer Mohammed Al-Ateef, along with several officials and those interested in agricultural affairs, in addition to wide participation from local farmers and productive families. The Prince of Asir was briefed on the sections dedicated to showcasing millet products and their derivatives, as well as the informational booths for entities related to the agricultural sector, in addition to awareness programs and accompanying events.
22 Sections Dedicated to Millet and Productive Families
The festival, which welcomes visitors during the evening for three days, includes 22 sections dedicated to millet producers and productive families, along with participation from several relevant centers and departments, contributing to the diversity of exhibits and enhancing integration among the entities supporting the agricultural sector.
Festival Objectives
The festival aims to highlight the importance of millet as one of the traditional agricultural crops in the Governorate of Baraq and the region, due to its high nutritional value and suitability for the local environment, as well as its role in supporting food security and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The organization of the third edition follows the successes achieved by the previous two editions, which witnessed wide community attendance and interaction that contributed to the continuation of the festival within the programs of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture supporting farmers and cooperative societies, in collaboration with the relevant official entities.
Support for Millet Crop
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture continues to support the millet crop as a national product with high nutritional value, by developing its production and marketing chains, and enhancing local production efficiency, in line with food security objectives and in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
