يأتي ترحيب السعودية بقرار الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلغاء العقوبات المفروضة على سورية، بموجب قانون (قيصر)، في إطار حرصها على أن هذه الخطوة من شأنها دعم الاستقرار والازدهار والتنمية بما يحقق تطلعات الشعب السوري الشقيق.
ولم يكن غريباً أن تكون السعودية أول المرحبين بالقرار والمباركين للقيادة السورية، لأنها ومنذ سقوط نظام بشار الأسد وقفت إلى جانب سورية في الجوانب السياسية، ومن خلال المحافل الدولية والاقتصادية لتجاوز ظروفها الصعبة وتجاوز ما خلفته إدارة المخلوع الأسد من فوضى وانعدام الأمن والتدهور الاقتصادي.
ويأتي القرار الأمريكي بإلغاء العقوبات المفروضة على سورية ترجمة للجهد الذي بذله ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان، الذي نجح في إقناع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب برفع العقوبات عن سورية وهو ما أعلنه من قلب الرياض، وقوبل بترحيب عربي وإسلامي ودولي، ونثر الأفراح في ربوع سورية، التي ثمن شعبها عالياً جهود ومواقف ولي العهد في دعم بلادهم ومساعدتها على التعافي في مختلف المجالات، خصوصاً أن قرار رفع العقوبات وإلغاء «قانون قيصر»، يمثل فصلاً جديداً ونقلة نوعية نحو تعافي الاقتصاد السوري، وبما يسهم في رفع المعاناة عن كاهل المواطن السوري، ويبعث الأمل بأن المستقبل واعد بكل ما تعنيه الكلمة خصوصاً في ظل المواقف التي يبذلها المجتمع الدولي من أجل مساعدة سورية على النهوض، والسير بثقة نحو النماء والازدهار، وترسيخ الأمن والأمان والاستقرار.
Saudi Arabia's welcome of the United States' decision to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria under the Caesar Act comes as part of its commitment to ensuring that this step will support stability, prosperity, and development in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian brotherly people.
It is not surprising that Saudi Arabia was among the first to welcome the decision and congratulate the Syrian leadership, as it has stood by Syria politically since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, and through international and economic forums to help it overcome its difficult circumstances and the chaos, insecurity, and economic deterioration left behind by the ousted Assad administration.
The American decision to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria is a reflection of the efforts made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who succeeded in convincing President Donald Trump to lift the sanctions on Syria, a fact he announced from the heart of Riyadh. This was met with Arab, Islamic, and international welcome, spreading joy across Syria, where its people highly appreciated the Crown Prince's efforts and positions in supporting their country and helping it recover in various fields. Especially since the decision to lift the sanctions and abolish the "Caesar Act" represents a new chapter and a qualitative leap towards the recovery of the Syrian economy, contributing to alleviating the suffering of the Syrian citizen and instilling hope that the future is promising in every sense of the word, particularly in light of the efforts made by the international community to assist Syria in rising and confidently moving towards growth and prosperity, and establishing security, safety, and stability.
