كشفت دارة الملك عبدالعزيز صوراً أرشيفية توثّق جولة الملك عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن -رحمه الله- في ضواحي البصرة عام 1334هـ (1916م)، وذلك في مرحلة مبكرة من مساعيه لتوطيد العلاقات الإقليمية، وتوسيع دائرة التواصل مع محيطه العربي والدولي.
وتُظهر إحدى الصور، التي التقطتها المصوّرة البريطانية جيرترود بيل، الملك عبدالعزيز واقفاً بهيبة وجلال بين رجاله في صحراء البصرة، في مشهد تسجّله عدسة التاريخ شاهداً على بُعد رؤيته، وحرصه على الحضور السياسي والدبلوماسي المبكر في المنطقة.

The King Abdulaziz Foundation has revealed archival photos documenting King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman’s - may God have mercy on him - tour in the outskirts of Basra in the year 1334 AH (1916 AD), during an early stage of his efforts to strengthen regional relations and expand communication with his Arab and international surroundings.
One of the photos, taken by British photographer Gertrude Bell, shows King Abdulaziz standing with dignity and grandeur among his men in the Basra desert, capturing a moment that history witnesses as a testament to his visionary outlook and his commitment to early political and diplomatic presence in the region.
