أعلن رئيس الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني عبدالعزيز بن عبدالله الدعيلج، طرح مطارات أبها والطائف والقصيم وحائل أمام القطاع الخاص، وستكون البداية بمطار أبها الدولي.
جاء الإعلان عن الطرح خلال كلمة رئيس الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني اليوم في حلقة نقاش بعنوان «استثمار البنية التحتية اللوجستية بين التمويل المشترك والفرص المستقبلية» وهي الجلسة الأولى ضمن فعاليات اليوم الثاني من مؤتمر سلاسل الإمداد الذي بدأ أعماله أمس في الرياض، بحضور وزير النقل والخدمات اللوجستية المهندس ناصر بن صالح الجاسر.
وقال الدعيلج إنه سيتم البت في العروض المقدمة لخصخصة مطار أبها خلال الأشهر القادمة، إذ تقدمت 100 شركة بعروض يجرى النظر فيها حالياًً. ويستهدف مشروع خصخصة مطار أبها رفع الطاقة التشغيلية من 1.5 مليون إلى 13 مليون مسافر على 3 مراحل.
وحول تجربة السعودية مع خصخصة المطارات قال الدعيلج: البداية كانت عام 2016 إذ تمت خصخصة مطار المدينة المنورة في تجربة كانت أنموذجاً رائداً عالمياً، منوهاً بالنجاح الكبير الذي حققته التجربة، إذ تمت زيادة سعة المطار من 3 ملايين إلى 8.5 مليون مسافر وتم الاتفاق على زيادة السعة إلى 18 مليوناً.
وأكد رئيس الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، أن العلاقة بين القطاع الحكومي والقطاع الخاص تقوم على الحوكمة والجودة والتنظيم من الجانب الحكومي، والتمويل والتصميم والتنفيذ والتشغيل من جانب القطاع الخاص.

The announcement was made during the speech of the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation today at a discussion panel titled "Investing in Logistics Infrastructure Between Joint Financing and Future Opportunities," which is the first session of the second day of the Supply Chain Conference that began yesterday in Riyadh, attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Nasser bin Saleh Al-Jasser.
Al-Duailej stated that the proposals submitted for the privatization of Abha Airport will be evaluated in the coming months, as 100 companies have submitted proposals that are currently under review. The Abha Airport privatization project aims to increase operational capacity from 1.5 million to 13 million passengers in three phases.
Regarding Saudi Arabia's experience with airport privatization, Al-Duailej said: The beginning was in 2016 when Medina Airport was privatized in a pioneering global model. He noted the significant success of this experience, as the airport's capacity was increased from 3 million to 8.5 million passengers, and an agreement was made to increase the capacity to 18 million.
The President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation emphasized that the relationship between the government sector and the private sector is based on governance, quality, and regulation from the government side, and financing, design, implementation, and operation from the private sector side.
