The Yemeni armed forces succeeded in thwarting an attack launched by the Houthi militia on their positions in the Al-Barah front, west of Taiz governorate, today (Friday), after fierce clashes that inflicted heavy losses on the Houthis in terms of lives and equipment.

A military source announced to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Houthi militia deployed a large number of its elements in an attack on the armed forces' positions, using various types of weapons, including artillery, mortars, and drones. However, the armed forces were on high alert and were able to monitor the hostile movements and respond effectively.

The source reported that the clashes resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Houthi elements, and the destruction and burning of several vehicles, camps, cannons, and military equipment belonging to them. He noted that the attack comes as part of the Houthi militias' attempts to compensate for their recent losses on the western fronts.

The military source confirmed that the Yemeni armed forces succeeded in foiling the attack and inflicting heavy losses on the attackers, forcing the remaining ones to flee.

The Yemeni forces continued to target the Houthis with drones east of Al-Jawf governorate.

Live footage was released showing the use of drone weaponry and advanced weapons in bombarding the militia's positions, gatherings, and vehicles across various battlefronts.

Informed sources reported today that clashes erupted between government forces and Houthi militias in the Al-Barah axis, east of the city of Al-Mokha, indicating that various types of weapons were used during the confrontations.

The United Nations envoy, Hans Grundberg, warned yesterday (Thursday) during a session of the UN Security Council that Yemen faces the gravest threat of a return to large-scale war since the UN-mediated truce between the Houthis and the government in 2022, while the international organization announced that more than half of the country's population is suffering from severe food insecurity.
