The Kuwaiti army announced today (Sunday) that a worker was injured in an aggressive attack by a drone targeting one of the offshore drilling platforms belonging to Kuwait Oil Company in Kuwaiti territorial waters, as well as three border posts.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, stated that three land border posts in the northern part of the country were subjected to a malicious aggressive attack, resulting in material damage.

He added: "One of the offshore drilling platforms belonging to Kuwait Oil Company in Kuwaiti territorial waters was also targeted by an enemy drone, resulting in material damage and the injury of one worker, who is receiving the necessary medical care."

He pointed out that the relevant authorities immediately began taking the necessary measures to deal with the incident, in coordination with the concerned parties.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed the continued readiness of the armed forces and their implementation of all necessary measures and precautions to maintain the security of the country and the safety of its territories.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strongest condemnation and denunciation of Iran's continued destabilizing behavior in the region and its repeated aggressive targeting of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as its serious attacks on commercial vessels.

Al-Budaiwi stated that Iranian behavior constitutes a grave violation of the principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, undermining the security and freedom of navigation, explaining that these repeated and aggressive Iranian attacks not only obstruct all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region but also reveal a systematic insistence on entrenching chaos, in blatant defiance of international law and the international will seeking to establish peace.

The Secretary-General affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council supports all measures taken by the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to enhance their security, preserve their sovereignty, and protect their peoples and residents on their territories.
