بحضور وزير الطاقة وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية رئيس مجلس مديري الشركة السعودية لشراء الطاقة (المشتري الرئيسي) الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، أعلنت الشركة توقيع 4 اتفاقيات لمشاريع تخزين الطاقة بتقنية البطاريات، بسعة إجمالية تبلغ 2000 ميجاواط لمدة 4 ساعات، وباستثماراتٍ تتجاوز 4.35 مليار ريال (1.16 مليار دولار أمريكي). وتأتي هذه المشاريع، التي تُشرف عليها وزارة الطاقة، ضمن المجموعة الأولى من مشاريع تخزين الطاقة بنموذج البناء والتملك والتشغيل، وفي إطار جهود منظومة الطاقة لتعزيز موثوقية وكفاءة إنتاج الكهرباء في المملكة.
وتشمل مشاريع المجموعة الأولى لأنظمة تخزين الطاقة بتقنية البطاريات، التي تم توقيع اتفاقياتها، مشروعي المويه وحضن في منطقة مكة المكرمة، ومشروع الكهفة في منطقة حائل، حيث تبلغ سعة كلٍّ منها 500 ميجاواط لمدة 4 ساعات.
وتهدف هذه المشاريع إلى زيادة سعات الطاقة المتجددة، وأنظمة تخزين الطاقة، ضمن مزيج الطاقة لتصل إلى نحو 50% بحلول عام 2030، وذلك حسب نمو الطلب على الكهرباء، بما يسهم في تعزيز موثوقية وكفاءة المنظومة الكهربائية، ورفع مرونتها التشغيلية، لدعم أمن إمدادات الطاقة الكهربائية، وريادة المملكة عالمياً في مجال الطاقة.
يذكر أن الشركة السعودية لشراء الطاقة (المشتري الرئيسي) هي الجهة المسؤولة عن إعداد الدراسات التمهيدية، وطرح مشاريع توليد الكهرباء وتخزين الطاقة، وتوقيع اتفاقيات شراء الطاقة، واتفاقيات خدمات تخزين الطاقة مع التحالفات المطوِّرة.
In the presence of the Minister of Energy, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Energy Purchase Company (the main buyer), Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the company announced the signing of 4 agreements for energy storage projects using battery technology, with a total capacity of 2000 megawatts for 4 hours, and investments exceeding 4.35 billion riyals (1.16 billion US dollars). These projects, overseen by the Ministry of Energy, are part of the first group of energy storage projects under the build-own-operate model, and are in line with the energy sector's efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity production in the Kingdom.
The first group of battery energy storage projects, for which agreements have been signed, includes the Al-Muwahe and Al-Hudn projects in the Makkah region, and the Al-Kahfa project in the Ha'il region, each with a capacity of 500 megawatts for 4 hours.
These projects aim to increase renewable energy capacities and energy storage systems within the energy mix to reach about 50% by 2030, according to the growth in electricity demand, which contributes to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the electrical system, and increasing its operational flexibility, to support the security of electricity supply and the Kingdom's global leadership in the energy sector.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Energy Purchase Company (the main buyer) is responsible for preparing preliminary studies, launching electricity generation and energy storage projects, and signing power purchase agreements and energy storage service agreements with developing alliances.
