أعلن مجلس إدارة الشركة السعودية للكهرباء تعيين المهندس خالد بن سالم الغامدي رئيساً تنفيذياً للشركة، وذلك اعتباراً من 1 أكتوبر 2025 في خطوة تجسّد الثقة بالخبرات الوطنية ودورها المحوري في تطوير صناعة الكهرباء، باعتبارها أحد الممكّنات الرئيسة للحراك التنموي الكبير الذي تشهده المملكة العربية السعودية.
وأعرب المهندس خالد بن سالم الغامدي عن اعتزازه بهذه الثقة الغالية، مقدماً شكره وتقديره لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، ولولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود؛ على الدعم الكبير الذي تحظى به الشركة السعودية للكهرباء، والذي مكّنها من تحقيق إنجازات نوعية وتعزيز دورها الحيوي في التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية للمملكة. كما ثمّن الغامدي التوجيهات والمتابعة المباشرة من لدن وزير الطاقة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز التي تشكّل ركيزة أساسية في مسيرة الشركة.
وعبر الغامدي عن شكره لمجلس إدارة الشركة على ثقتهم ودعمهم، مؤكداً أن هذه الثقة ستكون دافعاً لمواصلة العمل بروح الفريق الواحد لتحقيق تطلعات المشتركين والمساهمين.
وأضاف: «أتطلع مع زميلاتي وزملائي في الشركة السعودية للكهرباء إلى مرحلة جديدة من العمل المشترك، نبني فيها على ما تحقق من نجاحات على الأصعدة كافة، لنواصل الوفاء بتطلعات أكثر من 11 مليون مشترك في ارجاء المملكة، عبر خدمات كهربائية موثوقة وعالية الجودة. وسنعمل بعون الله على تعزيز موثوقية الشبكة الكهربائية، وزيادة مساهمة الشركة في تحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030 الطموحة، بما يرسّخ مكانتها شركةً وطنيةً رائدةً وركيزةً أساسيةً في منظومة الطاقة محليّاً وعالميّاً، وبما يعكس التزامنا بالابتكار وخدمة الوطن والمواطن».
يُذكر أن المهندس الغامدي يُعد من الكفاءات الوطنية المميزة، إذ شغل عدداً من المناصب القيادية في الشركة، من أبرزها: نائب الرئيس التنفيذي للخدمات الفنية، ونائب رئيس إدارة المخاطر والالتزام المكلّف، وكبير المهندسين بين عامي 2022 و2023، إضافة إلى منصب نائب الرئيس الأول لتقنية المعلومات والتحول الرقمي، وقاد تنفيذ استراتيجيات وبرامج على مستوى الشركة.
The Board of Directors of the Saudi Electricity Company announced the appointment of Engineer Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamdi as the Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective October 1, 2025, in a move that embodies trust in national expertise and its pivotal role in developing the electricity industry, as it is one of the main enablers of the significant developmental movement witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Engineer Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamdi expressed his pride in this valuable trust, extending his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for the substantial support received by the Saudi Electricity Company, which has enabled it to achieve qualitative accomplishments and enhance its vital role in the economic and social development of the Kingdom. Al-Ghamdi also valued the directives and direct follow-up from the Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, which form a fundamental pillar in the company's journey.
Al-Ghamdi expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors for their trust and support, affirming that this trust will be a motivation to continue working with a team spirit to meet the aspirations of subscribers and shareholders.
He added: “I look forward, along with my colleagues at the Saudi Electricity Company, to a new phase of joint work, building on the successes achieved on all fronts, to continue fulfilling the aspirations of more than 11 million subscribers across the Kingdom, through reliable and high-quality electricity services. With God's help, we will work to enhance the reliability of the electrical network and increase the company's contribution to achieving the ambitious goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, solidifying its position as a leading national company and a fundamental pillar in the energy system both locally and globally, reflecting our commitment to innovation and serving the nation and its citizens.”
It is noteworthy that Engineer Al-Ghamdi is considered one of the distinguished national talents, having held several leadership positions within the company, including: Deputy CEO for Technical Services, Acting Vice President of Risk Management and Compliance, and Chief Engineer between 2022 and 2023, in addition to the position of Senior Vice President for Information Technology and Digital Transformation, where he led the implementation of strategies and programs at the company level.
