شاركت المملكة ممثلةً بوزارة السياحة في اجتماع وزراء السياحة لمجموعة العشرين وقمة الاستثمار السياحي، اللذين أقيما للمرة الأولى بجنوب أفريقيا، في مبومالانجا وكيب تاون على التوالي، إذ جددت خلال مشاركتها التزامها الراسخ بالسياحة المستدامة والشاملة، مؤكدة مكانتها الريادية العالمية في قطاع السياحة.
ومثلت المملكةَ في الاجتماع، نائب وزير السياحة الأميرة هيفاء بنت محمد، حيث سلطت الضوء على الدور المحوري الذي تلعبه المملكة في رسم مستقبل السياحة.
وشددت نائب وزير السياحة خلال كلمتها أمام وفود مجموعة العشرين، على أهمية التعاون المشترك وتبادل الأفكار لوضع الاستدامة في صلب جهود تنمية القطاع السياحي، وقالت: «تشاطر المملكة العربية السعودية مجموعة العشرين التزامها بدفع عجلة نمو السياحة، والدرس المستفاد من نموذجَي جنوب أفريقيا والسعودية واضح: التحول المستدام يحدث عندما نتبادل الأفكار ونعمل معًا، لهذا السبب أطلقنا منتدى (تورايز)، أول منصة عالمية للعمل والتعاون المستمرين، وتحقيق أثر فعلي ملموس، وندعو العالم إلى الانضمام إلينا في نوفمبر المقبل لرسم مستقبل السياحة عبر التعاون والعمل المشترك».
وأضافت: «للسياحة القدرة على تغيير حياة الناس، وتحويل الاقتصادات، وجمع العالم معًا. ومن خلال رؤية المملكة 2030 نبرهن أن السياحة ليست محركًا للازدهار الاقتصادي فحسب، بل هي أيضًا محفز للتقدم الاجتماعي الشامل الذي لا يتحقّق إلا من خلال عملنا المشترك ومبادراتنا الجريئة».
وتواصل المملكة العربية السعودية لعب دور ريادي على الساحة العالمية عبر أرفع المنصات الدولية المعنية بتطوير القطاع السياحي، فمن خلال مشاركتها في اجتماع وزراء السياحة لدول مجموعة العشرين التي تشغل فيها منصب عضو دائم، أسهمت المملكة في صياغة الإعلان الوزاري النهائي، وحرصت على تضمين أولوياتها في سياسات السياحة العالمية، المتمثلة في: الاستدامة، والتحول الرقمي، والشمولية، وتطوير المهارات.
وعلى هامش اجتماع وزراء السياحة لمجموعة العشرين، استضافت الأميرة هيفاء نيابةً عن وزير السياحة أحمد بن عقيل الخطيب، مأدبة عشاء وزارية برعاية منتدى (تورايز)، دعت خلالها الوفود للمشاركة في النسخة الأولى من المنتدى الذي يُعد تجمعًا رائدًا لقادة قطاع السياحة والقطاعات المرتبطة به، والمبتكرين والمستثمرين، بهدف وضع أجندة السياحة العالمية للعقود القادمة.
وكانت المملكة قد عزّزت مكانتها واحدةً من أسرع الوجهات السياحية العالمية نموًّا، إذ استقبلت نحو 116 مليون سائح محلي ووافد من الخارج في عام 2024، بزيادة قدرها 6% عن عام 2023، متجاوزةً للسنة الثانية على التوالي المئة مليون سائح محلي ووافد من الخارج سنويًّا.
ويأتي هذا النمو نتيجة استثمارات ضخمة في الوجهات السياحية، والربط الجوي، والطاقة الاستيعابية للمطارات، إلى جانب تطوير بنية تحتية سياحية عالمية المستوى عبر مشاريع عملاقة مثل نيوم، والدرعية، والقدية. وتؤكّد هذه الجهود تحوّل المملكة إلى مركز عالمي للسياحة والاستثمار والابتكار، يزخر بالفرص الاستثمارية السياحية في مجالات الضيافة، والتراث، والترفيه، والفعاليات الرياضية.
وتواصل المملكة تعزيز مكانتها الريادية في قطاع السياحة العالمي من خلال التزامها بالتنمية المستدامة، وتمكين الكفاءات الوطنية، وتعزيز التعاون الدولي. وبفضل شراكاتها الإستراتيجية مع أبرز المنظمات العالمية، تضع المملكة معايير جديدة لقطاع سياحي أكثر مرونة وشمولية، بما يضمن تحقيق أثر اقتصادي واجتماعي طويل الأمد على المستويين المحلي والعالمي.
The Kingdom, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, participated in the G20 Tourism Ministers' Meeting and the Tourism Investment Summit, which were held for the first time in South Africa, in Mpumalanga and Cape Town respectively. During its participation, it reaffirmed its strong commitment to sustainable and inclusive tourism, emphasizing its global leadership position in the tourism sector.
The Kingdom was represented at the meeting by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Princess Haifa bint Mohammed, who highlighted the pivotal role the Kingdom plays in shaping the future of tourism.
During her speech before the G20 delegations, the Deputy Minister of Tourism emphasized the importance of joint cooperation and the exchange of ideas to place sustainability at the heart of efforts to develop the tourism sector. She stated: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shares with the G20 its commitment to driving the growth of tourism, and the lesson learned from the models of South Africa and Saudi Arabia is clear: sustainable transformation occurs when we exchange ideas and work together. That is why we launched the (Tourism) Forum, the first global platform for continuous work and cooperation, to achieve a tangible impact. We invite the world to join us next November to shape the future of tourism through collaboration and joint action.”
She added: “Tourism has the power to change lives, transform economies, and bring the world together. Through the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, we demonstrate that tourism is not only an engine for economic prosperity but also a catalyst for inclusive social progress that can only be achieved through our joint efforts and bold initiatives.”
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to play a leading role on the global stage through the highest international platforms concerned with developing the tourism sector. Through its participation in the G20 Tourism Ministers' Meeting, where it holds a permanent member position, the Kingdom contributed to shaping the final ministerial declaration and ensured that its priorities were included in global tourism policies, which are: sustainability, digital transformation, inclusivity, and skill development.
On the sidelines of the G20 Tourism Ministers' Meeting, Princess Haifa hosted, on behalf of Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, a ministerial dinner sponsored by the (Tourism) Forum, during which she invited the delegations to participate in the first edition of the forum, which is considered a leading gathering for tourism sector leaders and related sectors, innovators, and investors, aimed at setting the global tourism agenda for the coming decades.
The Kingdom has enhanced its position as one of the fastest-growing global tourist destinations, having welcomed around 116 million domestic and international tourists in 2024, an increase of 6% from 2023, surpassing the one hundred million mark for the second consecutive year for both domestic and international tourists annually.
This growth is the result of massive investments in tourist destinations, air connectivity, airport capacity, along with the development of world-class tourism infrastructure through giant projects such as NEOM, Diriyah, and Qiddiya. These efforts affirm the Kingdom's transformation into a global hub for tourism, investment, and innovation, rich with investment opportunities in hospitality, heritage, entertainment, and sporting events.
The Kingdom continues to enhance its leadership position in the global tourism sector through its commitment to sustainable development, empowering national competencies, and strengthening international cooperation. Thanks to its strategic partnerships with leading global organizations, the Kingdom is setting new standards for a more resilient and inclusive tourism sector, ensuring a long-term economic and social impact at both local and global levels.
