أصدر صندوق النقد الدولي تقرير مشاورات المادة الرابعة للمملكة العربية السعودية في عام 2025، مؤكداً متانة اقتصاد المملكة. وتضمن التقرير إشارة إلى النمو الكبير لقطاع السياحة، ودوره رافداً أساسياً للاقتصاد الوطني.
وأوضح تقرير الصندوق أن السياحة الوافدة من الخارج حققت نمواً كبيراً نجح في تعويض جزء من التدفقات الخارِجة من المملكة، وأسهم في تخفيف العجز الطفيف في الحساب الجاري لعام 2024.
وتُجسد هذه الإشادة سير القطاع بخطى ثابتة ومتسارعة نحو ترسيخ دوره محركاً اقتصادياً رئيسياً يعزّز نمو الاقتصاد الوطني، ويدعم تحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
يُذكر أن عدد السياح الوافدين من الخارج إلى المملكة في عام 2024 وصل إلى مستوى تاريخي بلغ نحو (30) مليون سائح وافد من الخارج، مسجّلاً نمواً بنسبة (8%) مقارنةً بعام 2023. وبلغ إجمالي الإنفاق السياحي للسياحة الوافدة من الخارج نحو (169) مليار ريال سعودي في عام 2024، بنسبة نموٍ بلغت (19%) مقارنةً بعام 2023، بحسب التقرير الإحصائي السنوي لأداء القطاع السياحي لعام 2024.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued the Article IV Consultation report for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025, confirming the robustness of the Kingdom's economy. The report included a reference to the significant growth of the tourism sector and its role as a key contributor to the national economy.
The Fund's report clarified that incoming tourism from abroad achieved substantial growth, successfully compensating for part of the outflows from the Kingdom, and contributed to alleviating the slight deficit in the current account for 2024.
This praise embodies the sector's steady and accelerated progress towards solidifying its role as a major economic driver that enhances national economic growth and supports the achievement of the goals of Vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that the number of tourists arriving from abroad to the Kingdom in 2024 reached a historic level of about (30) million incoming tourists, marking a growth rate of (8%) compared to 2023. The total tourism expenditure for incoming tourism from abroad amounted to approximately (169) billion Saudi Riyals in 2024, with a growth rate of (19%) compared to 2023, according to the annual statistical report on the performance of the tourism sector for 2024.
