تُعدّ منطقة القصيم موطناً لأقدم وأجود أنواع النخيل في شبه الجزيرة العربية، وتحظى بمردود اقتصادي كبير على مزارعي التمور ومستثمري وتجار التمور، فتمور السكري والخلاص والصقعي والونانة والشقراء والبرحي والمجدول والحوشانة هي أشهر تلك التمور.
ويأتي كرنفال بريدة للتمور الذي انطلقت فعالياته مطلع شهر أغسطس الجاري، الذي ينظمه المركز الوطني للنخيل والتمور، ووزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة، بإشراف مباشر من إمارة منطقة القصيم، تأكيداً على مكانة النخيل في منطقة القصيم، وحفاظاً على الموروث الأصيل، وإسهاماً من الكرنفال في تنشيط الحركة الاقتصادية المبنية على النخيل وتوسيع نطاقها وزيادة عوائدها التنموية والاقتصادية على كافة الأصعدة.
ويُعد كرنفال بريدة للتمور بيئة خصبة للأعمال التجارية، فطوال أيام الكرنفال تتحول مدينة التمور في بريدة إلى حاضنة أعمال يستطيع أن يجد فيها الباحث عن تجارة خاصة أو مصدر دخل إضافي العديد من الفرص الاستثمارية؛ كما يوفر الكرنفال لرواد الأعمال أكثر من فرصة استثمارية مربحة، تتمثل في البيع والشراء والتخزين وتقديم الخدمات كبيع العبوات الكرتونية والبلاستيكية والفرز والتغليف وتقديم خدمة التوصيل.
