أغلقت وزارة التجارة مستودعين مخالفين للغش في تعبئة وتغليف أغذية وحلويات أطفال منتهية الصلاحية، وضبطت 8 أطنان منتج غذائي فاسد أعدت للتعبئة والتغليف في عبوات تحمل تواريخ صلاحية جديدة، وتم حجزها ومصادرتها لإتلافها وإحالة المتورطين لإيقاع العقوبات الرادعة بحقهم.
وداهمت الفرق الرقابية للوزارة المقرين الواقعين في حي العزيزية وحي الخالدية جنوب الرياض، بالتعاون والتنسيق مع وزارة الموارد البشرية والتنمية الاجتماعية والهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء.
واشتملت الكميات المضبوطة، على مكسرات وبقوليات وحلويات وبن قهوة، كما ضُبطت ملصقات تحمل تواريخ صلاحية جديدة وأختاماً تستخدم في أعمال الغش.
وتؤكد وزارة التجارة التصدي لمخالفي نظام مكافحة الغش التجاري، وتطبيق الإجراءات النظامية ضدهم بالنظر لما يترتب على هذه المخالفات من غش وخداع للمستهلكين، إذ ينص النظام على عقوبات تصل إلى السجن ثلاث سنوات، وغرامات مالية تصل إلى مليون ريال، أو بهما معاً، والتشهير بالمخالفين، وإبعاد العمالة المخالفة.
وكانت وزارة التجارة قد أصدرت أخيراً، نشرتها الربعية للمستهلك عن الربع الثاني 2025، متضمنة أبرز الأعمال والجهود لحماية المستهلك في مجالات مكافحة الغش التجاري ومكافحة التستر التجاري والتجارة الإلكترونية وغيرها.
وتناولت النشرة أعمال اللجنة الدائمة لحماية المستهلك، إذ تتكامل جهود 20 جهة حكومية لرسم السياسات العامة والخاصة بنشاط حماية المستهلك، إضافة إلى المبادرات والأعمال الرقابية التي نفذتها الوزارة وساهمت في تعزيز الوفرة العالية من السلع والمنتجات لضيوف الرحمن خلال موسم الحج.
وتطرقت النشرة لنتائج تقييم وكلاء وموزعي الأجهزة الكهربائية والإلكترونية الذي يهدف إلى تطوير القطاع، ومعالجة التحديات التي تواجه المستهلك.
ونفذت الوزارة خلال الربع الثاني 2025م أكثر من 179 ألف زيارة تفتيشية للمنشآت التجارية في جميع مناطق المملكة لمكافحة الغش والتستر التجاري. وبلغ إجمالي الغرامات الصادرة بحق مخالفي نظام مكافحة التستر أكثر من 2.18 مليون ريال.
وفيما يتعلق بالمتاجر الإلكترونية، نفذت الوزارة أكثر من 7 آلاف زيارة تفتيشية إلكترونية للوقوف على الامتثال، وبلغ إجمالي المتاجر الجديدة التي تم توثيقها عبر «منصة الأعمال» خلال الربع الثاني 6406 متاجر إلكترونية.

The Ministry of Commerce has closed two warehouses violating regulations by packaging and wrapping expired children's food and sweets, and seized 8 tons of spoiled food products prepared for packaging in containers bearing new expiration dates. These products have been confiscated for destruction, and the involved parties have been referred for severe penalties.
The ministry's inspection teams raided the locations in the Al-Aziziyah and Al-Khalidiya neighborhoods south of Riyadh, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
The seized quantities included nuts, legumes, sweets, and coffee beans, as well as labels bearing new expiration dates and stamps used in fraudulent activities.
The Ministry of Commerce emphasizes its commitment to combating violators of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and applying legal measures against them, considering the deception and fraud these violations impose on consumers. The law stipulates penalties of up to three years in prison, financial fines of up to one million riyals, or both, along with publicizing the violators and deporting the offending workers.
Recently, the Ministry of Commerce issued its quarterly consumer report for the second quarter of 2025, highlighting the main activities and efforts to protect consumers in areas such as combating commercial fraud, combating commercial concealment, e-commerce, and more.
The report discussed the activities of the Permanent Committee for Consumer Protection, where the efforts of 20 government agencies are integrated to formulate public and specific policies for consumer protection activities, in addition to the initiatives and regulatory actions implemented by the ministry that contributed to enhancing the high availability of goods and products for pilgrims during the Hajj season.
The report also addressed the results of evaluating agents and distributors of electrical and electronic devices aimed at developing the sector and addressing the challenges faced by consumers.
