The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development clarified that the cancellation of some domestic worker recruitment contracts through the "Musanid" platform was limited to a small number of troubled contracts, denying any connection between the action and the 30% increase in recruitment costs.
This clarification from the ministry came after news circulated about the cancellation of dealings with recruitment offices in Ethiopia following the increase in recruitment fees; the statement indicated that the action affected a limited number of contracts that faced difficulties due to challenges with some overseas labor sending offices, which impacted their ability to meet their contractual obligations.
The ministry confirmed the continuation of recruitment services through "Musanid" at the previously set and approved costs, without any changes.
