أعلنت المملكة العربية السعودية استضافتها للمؤتمر العام الحادي والعشرين لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية (يونيدو)، المقرر انعقاده في العاصمة الرياض خلال الفترة من 23 إلى 27 نوفمبر 2025، وذلك خلال فعالية ترويجية نظّمتها وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية بالتعاون مع المنظمة في العاصمة النمساوية فيينا، على هامش أعمال الدورة الثالثة والخمسين لمجلس التنمية الصناعية (IDB)، وذلك بحضور سفير المملكة لدى جمهورية النمسا المندوب الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية في فيينا الدكتور عبدالله بن خالد طولة، وعدد من الدول الأعضاء وقيادات القطاع الصناعي حول العالم.
واستعرضت الفعالية، التي شهدت مشاركة عددٍ من المسؤولين وممثلي الدول الأعضاء، أبرز استعدادات المملكة لاستضافة المؤتمر، إلى جانب تقديم عروض لمبادرات ومشاريع وطنية ذات صلة بالصناعة والتنمية، شاركت فيها جهات متعددة، من بينها وزارة الإعلام (مبادرة كنوز)، ووزارة الاستثمار (استثمر في السعودية)، والصندوق السعودي للتنمية، والهيئة السعودية للسياحة (روح السعودية)، وهيئة تنمية الصادرات السعودية.
وأكد نائب وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية لشؤون الصناعة المهندس خليل بن إبراهيم بن سلمة، في كلمته خلال الفعالية، أن استضافة المملكة لهذا الحدث الدولي تعكس التزامها بتعزيز التعاون متعدد الأطراف في مجال التنمية الصناعية، والمساهمة في تطوير حلول مشتركة للتحديات المرتبطة بالتصنيع المستدام، والابتكار، والتحول التقني.
من جانبه، أشار المدير العام لمنظمة (يونيدو) غيرد مولر، إلى أن المؤتمر المرتقب سيمثل فرصة لتعزيز الشراكات بين الحكومات والقطاع الخاص والمجتمع المدني، معربًا عن تقديره للمملكة لاستضافتها المؤتمر، وما تبذله من جهود لدعم برامج التنمية الصناعية في الدول النامية.
ويُعدّ المؤتمر العام منصة دولية رفيعة تجمع صُنّاع السياسات وقادة القطاع الصناعي والخبراء من مختلف أنحاء العالم، لمناقشة قضايا رئيسية تشمل الصناعة المستدامة، والتحول الرقمي، والصناعة الخضراء، والاقتصاد الدائري، إضافة إلى التعاون التنموي مع الدول الأقل نموًا والدول متوسطة الدخل.
وتأتي استضافة المملكة لهذا المؤتمر ضمن مستهدفات رؤيتها الوطنية لتعزيز مكانتها بصفتها مركزًا صناعيًا إقليميًا، وتسليط الضوء على تجربتها في تطوير قطاع صناعي تنافسي ومستدام، بوصفه إحدى الركائز الأساسية لتنويع الاقتصاد الوطني في إطار رؤية المملكة 2030.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced its hosting of the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), scheduled to be held in the capital Riyadh from November 23 to 27, 2025, during a promotional event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in collaboration with the organization in the Austrian capital Vienna, on the sidelines of the 53rd session of the Industrial Development Board (IDB), with the presence of the Kingdom's Ambassador to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, Dr. Abdullah bin Khalid Tula, along with representatives from several member states and leaders of the industrial sector from around the world.
The event, which saw participation from several officials and representatives of member states, showcased the Kingdom's key preparations for hosting the conference, along with presentations of national initiatives and projects related to industry and development, involving multiple entities, including the Ministry of Media (Treasures Initiative), the Ministry of Investment (Invest in Saudi Arabia), the Saudi Fund for Development, the Saudi Tourism Authority (Saudi Spirit), and the Saudi Export Development Authority.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Engineer Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salama, emphasized in his speech during the event that the Kingdom's hosting of this international event reflects its commitment to enhancing multilateral cooperation in the field of industrial development and contributing to the development of joint solutions to challenges related to sustainable manufacturing, innovation, and technological transformation.
For his part, the Director General of UNIDO, Gerd Müller, pointed out that the upcoming conference will represent an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between governments, the private sector, and civil society, expressing his appreciation to the Kingdom for hosting the conference and for its efforts to support industrial development programs in developing countries.
The General Conference is considered a high-level international platform that brings together policymakers, industrial sector leaders, and experts from around the world to discuss key issues including sustainable industry, digital transformation, green industry, and the circular economy, in addition to developmental cooperation with least developed countries and middle-income countries.
The Kingdom's hosting of this conference aligns with the objectives of its national vision to enhance its position as a regional industrial hub and to highlight its experience in developing a competitive and sustainable industrial sector, as one of the key pillars for diversifying the national economy within the framework of Vision 2030.
