The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawaha, held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Syrian Arab Republic, Abdul Salam Haikal, to discuss partnership prospects in the fields of digital economy, in line with the Kingdom's efforts to support and empower the future of Syria.
During the meeting, discussions were held on enhancing the digital infrastructure to support sustainable development pathways and to align with the aspirations for growth and prosperity in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The meeting also addressed the integration between the two countries and the exchange of knowledge and expertise to enhance innovation and empower youth and entrepreneurs, preparing them for regional and global competition.
It is worth noting that telecommunications sector institutions in Syria, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, previously launched a comprehensive package of new offers and services targeting various segments of society, focusing on alleviating the living burdens on citizens, as part of ongoing national efforts to improve the quality of telecommunications services and enhance digital inclusion.
According to a joint statement, telecommunications sector institutions are taking this step to the maximum extent possible given the exceptional pressure faced by mobile networks due to the dilapidated and destroyed infrastructure, which the sector is working to update and expand in the upcoming phase.
The package of offers and services provided includes specially designed packages for subscribers with limited usage, offered at reduced prices that consider their daily needs.
