The Economic Forum of Riyadh is seeking, during its twelfth session scheduled to be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, from October 12 to 14, to study "Maximizing the Economic and Social Returns from Hosting the Kingdom's Events for Expo 2030 and the World Cup 2034".
Maximizing Economic and Social Impact
The study addresses ways to maximize the economic and social impact of hosting global events by supporting local GDP growth, generating quality job opportunities, stimulating local and foreign investment, developing infrastructure and digital capabilities, and revitalizing the transportation and logistics sectors. The study also explores how to benefit from hosting Expo 2030 and the World Cup 2034 in enhancing the competitiveness of the Saudi economy and supporting its diversification, alongside reinforcing the Kingdom's image and highlighting its national identity and cultural depth.
Building a Sustainable Legacy and Enhancing Governance
The forum emphasizes that the returns associated with the two events are not limited to their duration but extend to building a sustainable legacy through supporting innovation, empowering individuals, developing partnerships between the public and private sectors, and enhancing governance and transparency in managing major projects. The study aims to transform investments and projects related to hosting global events into sustainable assets that contribute to achieving the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly regarding economic diversification, maximizing non-oil revenues, and accelerating development in various sectors.
