كشف التقرير الأسبوعي الصادر عن البنك المركزي السعودي «ساما» ارتفاعاً ملحوظاً بالإنفاق على قطاع التعليم عبر عمليات نقاط البيع، حيث زاد الإنفاق بنسبة 133.9% ليصل إلى 277.33 مليون دولار (1.04 مليار ريال)، فيما زاد عدد العمليات بنحو 55.7% إلى 250 ألف عملية، وذلك في الأسبوع المنتهي في 22 أغسطس الجاري، وهو الأسبوع الذي سبق بداية العام الدراسي الجديد.
وبحسب التقرير، زاد الإنفاق على الكتب والأدوات المكتبية بنحو 30.2% إلى 41.38 مليون دولار (155.18 مليون ريال)، مع ارتفاع عدد العمليات بهذا القطاع بنسبة 37.9% إلى 1.08 مليون عملية. وذلك وفقا لما نشره موقع «العربة. نت»
الرياض تتصدر
وبلغت مبيعات نقاط البيع بالمملكة 3.779 مليار دولار (14.17 مليار ريال) خلال الأسبوع الماضي، مقابل 3.784 مليار دولار (14.19 مليار ريال) في الأسبوع المنتهي يوم 15 أغسطس 2026.
وارتفع الإنفاق في مدينة الرياض خلال الأسبوع الماضي بنسبة 6%، ليصل إلى 1.37 مليار دولار (5.13 مليار ريال) من خلال تنفيذ 77.93 مليون عملية، مقابل 1.29 مليار دولار (4.84 مليار ريال) من خلال تنفيذ 79.8 مليون عملية في الأسبوع السابق عليه.
جدة في المرتبة الثانية
وحلت مدينة جدة في المرتبة الثانية بالإنفاق بواقع 480 مليون دولار (1.8 مليار ريال)، لينخفض بنحو 4.4% عن الأسبوع السابق، تليها مدينة الدمام بإنفاق بلغ 189.3 مليون دولار (710 مليون ريال) مسجلاً زيادة بنسبة 9.3%.
وبلغ الإنفاق في مدينتي مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة 141.33 مليون دولار (530 مليون ريال) و138.67 مليون دولار (520 مليون ريال) على التوالي، ليسجلا تراجعاً بنسبة 6.9% و8.4% على الترتيب.
وشهد إنفاق المستهلكين الأسبوعي في السعودية عبر عمليات مبيعات نقاط البيع انخفاضاً هامشياً خلال الفترة من 16 إلى 22 أغسطس الحالي بنحو 0.1% مقارنة مع الأسبوع السابق.
The weekly report issued by the Saudi Central Bank "SAMA" revealed a significant increase in spending on the education sector through point-of-sale transactions, with spending rising by 133.9% to reach $277.33 million (1.04 billion riyals), while the number of transactions increased by approximately 55.7% to 250,000 transactions, during the week ending on August 22, which was the week preceding the start of the new academic year.
According to the report, spending on books and stationery increased by about 30.2% to $41.38 million (155.18 million riyals), with the number of transactions in this sector rising by 37.9% to 1.08 million transactions. This was according to what was published by the website "al-arabia.net"
Riyadh Leads
Point-of-sale sales in the Kingdom reached $3.779 billion (14.17 billion riyals) during the past week, compared to $3.784 billion (14.19 billion riyals) in the week ending on August 15, 2026.
Spending in the city of Riyadh increased by 6% during the past week, reaching $1.37 billion (5.13 billion riyals) through 77.93 million transactions, compared to $1.29 billion (4.84 billion riyals) through 79.8 million transactions in the previous week.
Jeddah in Second Place
The city of Jeddah ranked second in spending with $480 million (1.8 billion riyals), a decrease of about 4.4% from the previous week, followed by the city of Dammam with spending of $189.3 million (710 million riyals), recording an increase of 9.3%.
Spending in the cities of Mecca and Medina reached $141.33 million (530 million riyals) and $138.67 million (520 million riyals) respectively, recording declines of 6.9% and 8.4% respectively.
Weekly consumer spending in Saudi Arabia through point-of-sale transactions witnessed a marginal decline of about 0.1% during the period from August 16 to 22 compared to the previous week.
