شهدت ولاية ماهاراشترا الهندية حادثة مأساوية انتهت بفقدان ثلاثة أفراد من عائلة واحدة، بعد خلاف بسيط تطوّر بشكل صادم إلى مأساة على أحد الجروف المرتفعة في منطقة تيسغاون.
بدأت القصة حين طلب الشاب كونال شاندغودي، البالغ 19 عامًا، من والده شراء هاتف (آيفون)، إلا أن الأب، وهو سائق بسيط، اعتذر عن عدم قدرته على تحمل تكلفة الجهاز. غضب الابن وغادر المنزل متوجهًا إلى تلال (خافديا)، ما دفع والديه إلى اللحاق به خوفًا من أن يقدم على إيذاء نفسه.

وعلى مدى ساعات، حاول الأب والأم إقناع ابنهم بالعدول عن تهديده بالانتحار، بينما حضرت الشرطة ورجال الإطفاء وعدد من الأهالي للمساعدة في عملية إنقاذ معقدة استمرت نحو ثلاث ساعات. وانتشرت مقاطع مصوّرة تُظهر الشاب واقفًا على حافة جرف شاهق، فيما حاول رجال الإنقاذ نشر شبكة أمان أسفل الموقع، لكن تحركاته المستمرة على المنحدر حالت دون ذلك.
وخلال محاولة الأب الاقتراب من ابنه للإمساك به، فقد الاثنان توازنهما وسقطا من أعلى الجرف أمام أعين الموجودين، ليلقيا حتفهما على الفور. وما إن شاهدت الأم سقوط زوجها وابنها، حتى اندفعت بدافع الصدمة والحزن وألقت بنفسها من الجرف، لتنتهي حياتها هي الأخرى خلال دقائق.
وتحوّلت الحادثة إلى حديث الشارع الهندي، وسط موجة تعاطف واسعة مع العائلة، ودعوات لتعزيز الوعي المجتمعي حول التعامل مع الضغوط النفسية والانفعالات الحادة لدى الشباب.
The Indian state of Maharashtra witnessed a tragic incident that resulted in the loss of three members of the same family, after a minor dispute shockingly escalated into a tragedy on a high cliff in the Tisgaon area.
The story began when 19-year-old Kunal Chandgudi asked his father to buy him an (iPhone), but the father, a simple driver, apologized for being unable to afford the device. The son became angry and left the house heading to the (Khavdiya) hills, prompting his parents to follow him out of fear that he might harm himself.

For hours, the father and mother tried to convince their son to retract his suicide threat, while the police, firefighters, and several locals arrived to assist in a complex rescue operation that lasted about three hours. Videos circulated showing the young man standing on the edge of a steep cliff, while rescuers attempted to deploy a safety net below the site, but his constant movements on the slope made this difficult.
During the father's attempt to approach his son to grab him, both lost their balance and fell from the top of the cliff in front of those present, dying instantly. As soon as the mother saw her husband and son fall, she rushed in shock and grief and threw herself off the cliff, ending her life just minutes later.
The incident turned into a topic of conversation across India, amid a wave of sympathy for the family and calls to raise community awareness about dealing with psychological pressures and intense emotions among youth.
