أعلنت السعودية ترشيح الدكتورة حنان حسن بلخي لمنصب المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية للفترة من عام 2027م إلى عام 2032م.
يعكس هذا الترشيح إيمان المملكة بالدور المحوري الذي تضطلع به منظمة الصحة العالمية في تعزيز الأمن الصحي العالمي، ودعم الدول في بناء أنظمة صحية أكثر كفاءة واستدامة ومرونة، قادرة على مواجهة التحديات الصحية الحالية والمستقبلية. كما يعكس التزام المملكة الراسخ بدعم التعاون الصحي متعدد الأطراف، ومواصلة إسهامها الفاعل في الجهود الدولية الرامية إلى تعزيز الوقاية والاستعداد والاستجابة للطوارئ الصحية، وتحقيق التغطية الصحية الشاملة، وضمان وصول الخدمات الصحية إلى المجتمعات الأكثر حاج، دعماً لأهداف التنمية المستدامة. تتمتع الدكتورة حنان بلخي بخبرة علمية وقيادية واسعة في مجالات الصحة العامة، والأمراض المعدية، والوقاية من العدوى ومكافحتها، والأمن الصحي، والنظم الصحية، والصحة الدولية. كما تمتلك خبرة قيادية واسعة داخل منظمة الصحة العالمية على المستويات الثلاثة: القُطري والإقليمي والعالمي. ومن أبرز المناصب التي شغلتها انتخابها مديرة إقليمية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية لإقليم شرق المتوسط، وتوليها منصب أول مساعد للمدير العام لمقاومة مضادات الميكروبات. أسهمت الدكتورة بلخي طوال مسيرتها المهنية في تطوير وتنفيذ العديد من المبادرات والسياسات الصحية الهادفة إلى حماية المجتمعات وتعزيز قدرات الأنظمة الصحية. يعكس ترشيح المملكة للدكتورة حنان بلخي تطلعها إلى الإسهام في مواصلة تطوير منظمة الصحة العالمية، وتعزيز قدرتها على الاستجابة لحاجات الدول الأعضاء، وترسيخ مبادئ العدالة والشفافية والكفاءة، وبناء شراكات دولية فاعلة تسهم في تعزيز الصحة والرفاه حول العالم.
Saudi Arabia has announced the nomination of Dr. Hanan Hassan Balkhi for the position of Director-General of the World Health Organization for the period from 2027 to 2032.
This nomination reflects the Kingdom's belief in the pivotal role played by the World Health Organization in enhancing global health security and supporting countries in building more efficient, sustainable, and resilient health systems capable of facing current and future health challenges. It also reflects the Kingdom's steadfast commitment to supporting multilateral health cooperation and continuing its active contribution to international efforts aimed at enhancing prevention, preparedness, and response to health emergencies, achieving universal health coverage, and ensuring access to health services for the most vulnerable communities, in support of sustainable development goals. Dr. Hanan Balkhi has extensive scientific and leadership experience in the fields of public health, infectious diseases, infection prevention and control, health security, health systems, and international health. She also possesses extensive leadership experience within the World Health Organization at the country, regional, and global levels. Among the prominent positions she has held is her election as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Region and her role as the Senior Assistant to the Director-General for Antimicrobial Resistance. Throughout her career, Dr. Balkhi has contributed to the development and implementation of numerous health initiatives and policies aimed at protecting communities and enhancing the capacities of health systems. The Kingdom's nomination of Dr. Hanan Balkhi reflects its aspiration to contribute to the continued development of the World Health Organization, enhance its ability to respond to the needs of member states, and reinforce the principles of justice, transparency, and efficiency, while building effective international partnerships that contribute to promoting health and well-being around the world.
