شطبت مجموعة «UBS» غروب المصرفية السويسرية العملاقة مئات الوظائف في مختلف فروعها بأوروبا والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا، في أحدث جولة تخفيض للوظائف منذ استحواذها على منافستها السويسرية «كريدي سويس» قبل 3 سنوات.
ونقلت وكالة بلومبيرغ للأنباء عن مصادر مطلعة القول إن خطة شطب الوظائف الأخيرة تشمل بشكل أساسي وظائف الدعم، رغم أن بعض المصرفيين الذين يقومون بوظائف تتصل مباشرة بالعملاء ضمن الخطة أيضا.
وحصل بعض الموظفين الذين تم شطب وظائفهم على عروض بوظائف جديدة في المجموعة كجزء من جهود «UBS» للحد من تأثير الخطة على العاملين لديها.
من ناحيته قال متحدث باسم «UBS» إن المجموعة ستبقي عدد الوظائف التي يتم شطبها نتيجة الاندماج مع «كريدي سويس» عند أقل مستوى ممكن في سويسرا والعالم. ولتخفيف حدة شطب الوظائف تركز «UBS» على إعادة الوظائف التي كانت تقوم بها شركات أخرى لحسابها إلى هيكل وظائف المجموعة.
وانخفض إجمالي عدد العاملين في «UBS» بنحو 17 ألف موظف منذ الاستحواذ على «كريدي سويس»، وفقا لأحدث البيانات المتاحة، وبعد شهور من إتمام الصفقة، وضعت «UBS» خطة لشطب نحو 35 ألف وظيفة.
The Swiss banking giant "UBS" has cut hundreds of jobs across its various branches in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in the latest round of job reductions since acquiring its Swiss rival "Credit Suisse" three years ago.
Bloomberg News reported, citing informed sources, that the latest job cuts plan mainly includes support roles, although some bankers in positions directly related to clients are also included in the plan.
Some employees whose jobs were cut received offers for new positions within the group as part of "UBS's" efforts to mitigate the impact of the plan on its workforce.
A spokesperson for "UBS" stated that the group will keep the number of jobs eliminated as a result of the merger with "Credit Suisse" at the lowest possible level in Switzerland and globally. To ease the impact of job cuts, "UBS" is focusing on bringing back jobs that were performed by other companies on its behalf into the group's job structure.
The total number of employees at "UBS" has decreased by about 17,000 since the acquisition of "Credit Suisse," according to the latest available data, and months after completing the deal, "UBS" laid out a plan to cut around 35,000 jobs.
