تراجعت أسعار الذهب بشكل حاد خلال تعاملات الجمعة، متجهةً نحو تسجيل خسارة أسبوعية، حيث غذّت أسعار الطاقة المرتفعة المخاوف من التضخم وعززت التوقعات باستمرار السياسة النقدية المتشددة، في حين يترقب المتداولون نتائج القمة الأمريكية الصينية.
ووفقاً لأسعار الذهب بالريال السعودي، تراجع غرام الذهب عيار 18 قبل الضريبة والمصنعية إلى 412 ريالاً، فيما بلغ سعر الغرام عيار 21 نحو 481 ريالاً، وبلغ سعر الغرام الصافي عيار 24 نحو 550 ريالاً.
وفي المقابل، ارتفع مؤشر الدولار -الذي يقيس أداء العملة الأمريكية أمام سلة من ست عملات رئيسية- بنسبة 0.3% عند 99.11 نقطة، لتتجاوز مكاسبه 1% هذا الأسبوع.
وخفض بنك «إيه إن زد» توقعاته لسعر الذهب بنهاية العام بمقدار 200 دولار لتصل إلى 5600 دولار، محذراً من أن قوة الدولار وعائدات السندات ستظل تمثل حجر عثرة أمام تعافي الأسعار.
Gold prices fell sharply during Friday's trading, heading towards a weekly loss, as high energy prices fueled inflation fears and bolstered expectations for the continuation of a tight monetary policy, while traders await the results of the U.S.-China summit.
According to gold prices in Saudi riyals, the price of 18-carat gold per gram before tax and manufacturing costs dropped to 412 riyals, while the price of 21-carat gold per gram reached approximately 481 riyals, and the price of pure 24-carat gold per gram was around 550 riyals.
In contrast, the dollar index - which measures the performance of the U.S. dollar against a basket of six major currencies - rose by 0.3% to 99.11 points, surpassing its gains of 1% this week.
ANZ Bank has lowered its gold price forecast for the end of the year by $200 to $5,600, warning that the strength of the dollar and bond yields will continue to pose a hurdle to price recovery.
