أكد الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم البديوي، أن وزراء التجارة بدول مجلس التعاون والمملكة المتحدة أشادوا بالتقدم الكبير الذي شهدته مفاوضات اتفاقية التجارة الحرة بين الجانبين، متطلعين إلى ختام المفاوضات في الفترة القريبة القادمة، بما يسهم في تحقيق المصالح المتبادلة والرؤية الموحدة لنمو اقتصادي مستدام وواعد بين الجانبين.
تعزيز الشراكة الإستراتيجية
وأشار إلى أنه جرى خلال الاجتماع مناقشة عدة موضوعات، أبرزها تعزيز الشراكة الإستراتيجية، بما فيها تذليل كافة المعوقات وتقريب وجهات النظر في كافة الجوانب المتعلقة باتفاقية التجارة الحرة بين الجانبين، تمهيدًا للتوقيع عليها خلال الفترة القريبة القادمة.
جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع وزراء التجارة في دول مجلس التعاون والمملكة المتحدة الذي أقيم أمس، بمشاركة الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون، لمناقشة اتفاقية التجارة الحرة، عبر الاتصال المرئي، برئاسة وزير الصناعة والتجارة في مملكة البحرين عبدالله بن عادل فخرو -رئيس الدورة الحالية-، بحضور وزراء التجارة بدول المجلس.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the trade ministers of the GCC countries and the United Kingdom praised the significant progress made in the negotiations for the free trade agreement between the two sides, looking forward to concluding the negotiations in the near future, which will contribute to achieving mutual interests and a unified vision for sustainable and promising economic growth between the two sides.
Enhancing the Strategic Partnership
He noted that several topics were discussed during the meeting, most notably enhancing the strategic partnership, including overcoming all obstacles and aligning viewpoints on all aspects related to the free trade agreement between the two sides, in preparation for signing it in the near future.
This came during the meeting of the trade ministers of the GCC countries and the United Kingdom held yesterday, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the GCC, to discuss the free trade agreement via video conference, chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro - the current session's president - with the attendance of the trade ministers from the member states.
