أعلن المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي بعد التنسيق مع وزارة الاقتصاد والتخطيط إعادة جدولة الاجتماع الدولي حول التعاون والنمو، الذي كان من المقرر عقده خلال الفترة 22–23 أبريل 2026 في مدينة جدة.
وأوضحت الوزارة أنّ هذا القرار يأتي بناءً على رغبة المنتدى في ضوء التطورات الإقليمية الراهنة، وبما يضمن انعقاد الاجتماع في توقيت يحقق الأثر المنشود.
منصة عالمية
وأشار إلى أنّ المملكة كانت وما زالت على أتم الاستعداد لاستضافة الاجتماع الدولي في مدينة جدة، مستندةً إلى ما تمتلكه من خبرة وكفاءة تنظيمية عالية في استضافة الفعاليات الدولية الكبرى، وما رسخته خلال السنوات الأخيرة من مكانة متقدمة كونها منصة عالمية للحوار، بما في ذلك النجاح الذي تحقق في استضافة الاجتماع الخاص للمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في مدينة الرياض عام 2024، وتتطلع الوزارة إلى عقد الاجتماع الدولي في موعد سيُعلن لاحقاً.
وصرح المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي أنّ الاجتماع الدولي حول التعاون والنمو يمثّل منصة رئيسية لتعزيز الحوار العالمي البنّاء، وأنّه بعد التنسيق مع وزارة الاقتصاد والتخطيط، قرر المنتدى إعادة جدولة الاجتماع، وذلك بهدف تحقيق أقصى استفادة ممكنة منه وتعزيز أثره العالمي.
The World Economic Forum announced, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the rescheduling of the international meeting on cooperation and growth, which was set to take place from April 22–23, 2026, in the city of Jeddah.
The ministry clarified that this decision comes based on the forum's desire in light of current regional developments, ensuring that the meeting is held at a time that achieves the desired impact.
A Global Platform
It was noted that the Kingdom has been and remains fully prepared to host the international meeting in the city of Jeddah, relying on its high organizational expertise and efficiency in hosting major international events, as well as the advanced position it has established in recent years as a global platform for dialogue, including the success achieved in hosting the special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh in 2024. The ministry looks forward to holding the international meeting at a date to be announced later.
The World Economic Forum stated that the international meeting on cooperation and growth represents a key platform for enhancing constructive global dialogue, and that after coordinating with the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the forum decided to reschedule the meeting in order to maximize its potential benefits and enhance its global impact.
